So, there's this circle of friends I hang out with regularly. We do various activities together like going to the beach, having BBQs, brunches, dinners, and so on. Feeling confident, I suggest we grab lunch or dinner sometime next week. To my surprise, she declines, saying she just enjoys talking to me. I'm taken aback because her actions seemed to indicate otherwise. I brush it off and continue chatting with her before eventually rejoining my friends. She leaves with her cousin, and I fill my friends in on what happened.

The next day, Blue Eyes' cousin calls me and mentions she heard about the situation. She says Blue Eyes thought I moved too quickly and that I should put in more effort before winning her over. I chuckle and jokingly remark about how we're not in high school playing games.

Despite this, as days go by, I find myself thinking that in today's world, perhaps hiring an escort once or twice a week might be preferable to getting into a serious relationship.
