no one that is competent would engage the US in war lol. there is no peer for the US navy, its unmatched. china is next up and they dont even have a blue water navy yet... that being said, im pretty sure the US navy is still the most tested navy in the world today.
i also dont buy this iranbrah cope about carriers being obsolete, if that were true why is china rushing to build and deploy more of their own to match USA? why isnt the pentagon decommissioning these "useless" sitting ducks? or is the pentagon unaware of the high tech drones like iranbrah is?

Tested? Against what? Please list the militaries that have tested the US Navy since Vietnam besides Israel.
Yes, most countries won't attack the United States because they would lose because but to think that the US navy has some sort invulnerability against drones and guided missiles is ridiculous. We've just never fought anybody who could actually sustain an attack with those weapons against us.
As far as aircraft carriers, the modern day purpose is not to fight a peer enemy, it is to project power against weaker satellites. In a peer peer war, all navy's all nations would be sitting ducks.Black with a Small Hat

lmao, according to who? navy is what wins wars boyo.
bro aint no one convincing me that a swam of shietdrones are making it anywhere near a carrier battle group.... missiles yeah for sure, but anti ship missiles arent anything new they have been around for a long time and yet major powers still field aircraft carriers. you can look into this yourself, its a lot harder to effectively target an active aircraft carrier than you think it is bro.

"In 5 years, there will be no Armenia"
Putin's propaganda chief Simonyan makes another statement implying that Armenia is on Putin's acquisition list.
With US congress now paralyzed, Putin rightly understands there will be no consequences for anything he does.Last edited by iWinLOL; 03-04-2024 at 02:17 PM.

ok so we have to write off anything that isnt combat tested only in peer to peer warfare? thats how it works?
well then ill let you know after ww3 bro.
the US navy constantly runs sims and tests against its own capabilities, that doesnt count for anything? as of right now the US navy is basically unmatched. the navy is the reason why the US is so overpowered, and the biggest part of that is the carrier groups.

you have to transition manufacturing in order to produce more shells for ukraine, that wouldnt be very politically popular in the US i would assume. "lets stop making car parts and instead retool this fab to make shells for ukraine" no politician would ever say this.
regardless if its about money or not, US defense contractors have always been very good at innovation. they have very good engineers. DoD just put something out about AI integration into defnce systems, shiet is gonna get real out here boys. its Skynet.

They talked about that months ago. They're trying to eliminate manned positions and replace it with machines and AI. We'll see.

At this rate (4.4 bill usd/month) they seem to have 12 months left. Will likely have to devalue their currency some more

The Houthi's engaged the US in a war and really don't care about Americas unmatched naval power. Its easy work to deal with.
Carriers are World War 2 tech. Theres nothing special about them, they're more of a liability than anything else.
Throughout military history nations have mistakenly thought weapons of old are still relevant. They often face rude awakenings. Anyways we wont find out the US would never dare to fight Iran. The US makes calculated decisions around who to fight and Iran has passed the American risk threshold. We will see sabre rattling and sanctions - however American sanctions are getting weaker by the year.

Navy is what wins wars, trust me bro.
What exactly are your data points for such a confident delceration? The pacific theatre during world war 2? lol.
I don't think you understand how this conflict would play out. It's very simple. The Americans don't know the capabilitites of Iranian missiles, they do know the range of those missiles, so they will be forced to keep their aircraft carriers outside of that range, because they won't risk their aircraft carrier being hit. This is a concept called Area Denial.
Whether Iran can sink a carrrier or not is irrelevant, the objective is already achieved.
You mock drones but they have an important role to play in recon. Expendable drones can be used to locate and harrass American Vessels, they can also be used to disguise higher probability attacks. It's not 1945.
