I'm hoping we do. We haven't had a franchise guy for a long time. We had Jimmy who was a placeholder but with Brock, it makes sense to fix the OL issues and make him our guy.

yup. Execution was a failure all game, from some their best guys too: CMC fumble, Trent multiple penalties and brutal holding, Deebo couldn't get open...these are all some of your top paid players and they **** the bed.

they will address OL this offseason in a major way, guaranteed. It's too glaring of an issue.

This team has lost 3 SBs in about the last 10 years or so

Almost as bad as the early 90s Bills

I don't understand how anyone can keep watching and supporting this team. I was like 7 or 8 when they last won the SB

I don't understand this attitude. Can we appreciate that they're not a perennial 2 win team? Like would you prefer that instead of making the playoffs?

I have no faith in this regime. Jed York and Kyle Shanahan are losers. They've made losing acceptable. That's why I have no expectations while those two are in charge of things. Love the team, but I'm done with these clowns. Shanahan hasn't learned anything and I can see him going full potato as usual. I don't mind losing. But Shanahan and co did not have their house in order and I have no confidence they will going forward. Hope they prove me wrong though. But until then, I have no expectations of this team.

31 teams lose every year. Some franchises haven't even made the SB.

You were lucky enough to be alive when they won the last one. If you don't want to keep watching then don't, pretty sure nobody is forcing you but no matter how much I want to see them win another SB as an adult I'm not going to stop watching just because they've gotten close and didn't get it done.

Getting frustrated with the results is fine. Walking away from being a fan because of it is bitch behavior IMO but you're a grown man, you can do whatever you feel like as long as it's not hurting anyone.

Having no faith in this regime is hilarious to me when they've been arguably the 2nd most successful team in the NFL in the last 5 years.

Our bad luck is that the two times we've made it into the big dance it's been against the most successful team in the league during that time.

And I can understand some concerns about Shanahan but what exactly are you looking for from Jed York? Owners literally only impact the product when they get in the way. York has let Kyle and John handle everything and he's been supportive in every way behind them. If you listen to anyone talk about the team you'll hear rave reviews about how the ownership treats their staff, players and their families.

Has there been a single move York has made where he lobbied for a specific player that backfired? That he didn't spend money on something that hurt the team?

It's been just the opposite. We all want Eddie D to comeback but Jed is a different person from the Baalke years. Now I do wish he'd stay away from some interviews but if his interviews impact the play on the field then we have bigger issues to deal with.

And as for Shanahan my concerns with him are more related to lack of focus on the OL, his reluctance to give young players a chance, his inability to adjust on the fly as much if guys get injured in a game but the whole "choker" thing is a bunch of BS. If you just look at the plays on the field if they're executed properly they're good plays and would have us winning the game.

Hey, I want them to prove me wrong. That means they win the SB. But until that happens, it's clear that Shanahan has a brain fart on the biggest stage and Jed York is a f@gg@t compared to Debartolo. I have no expectations with these bozos. You can keep yours how you want it.

You're a grown man so do what you wanna do. I'm just curious what the reason is that you feel that way.

What are you expecting Jed to do or not do? Don't forget Eddie got to own the team before the salary cap. Different rules.

lol imagine fans of other teams reading this chit. They'd be totally baffled at this stupidity. No wonder Niner fans are called Whiner fans.

Was Jim Harbaugh a "loser" too? He was WORSE than Shanahan dude. He lost on a freaking Kyle Williams choke, is he a loser for that (yet shanny gets blamed for a muffed punt lol, as a 'choker'). Then his 49ers were mega stacked against an aging Ravens team and got dickkicked and he choked at the freaking goal line FOR THE SUPERBOWL. Then he got poonslapped by Carroll every year after with a TOTALLY stacked team (more stacked than Shanny's tbh).

    bruh...not a good look.

I hate sticking up for rich entitled kids but Jed hired both Harbaugh and Shanahan, two of the most promising coaches in the last decade, and they haven't got it done.....winning a SB is freaking hard dude, especially if you don't have an elite QB. such is life. at least we have seasons to look forward to.

Honestly without an elite QB the best you can do is contend every year, and then you catch some breaks.

If you just look at the plays on the field if they're executed properly they're good plays and would have us winning the game.
this is logical. the emotional menstruation of other fans is hilarious though.

serioiusly I love how people bring up Eddie...Eddie had no salary cap and just stacked his roster full of talent. Jed can't do that. The 1994 team is the most talented team of all time.

I love the draft as much as anyone but that's loser behavior. I'd much rather enjoy the season all the way until the SB than constantly hope the team can nail the early round picks.

Also in case this isn't obvious to you, going 2-15 tends to come with coaching changes and roster turnover. Look at how many teams constantly picking in the top 5 season after season have done...

    Jags
    Houston
    Cleveland
    Cardinals

Perennial early draft teams. No consistency and no SBs. Jags, Houston and Cleveland have never even BEEN to the SB.

Every year is failure but that's what you'd rather see...

lmao, they are winning, they are winning a lot.

Saying it doesn't matter "unless they win a SB" is even dumber. Getting deep into the playoffs means you are a very good team who can contend - that matters - would you rather be the Bears and have no hope for the next 4 years? lol. it matters. Most teams don't even have a reliable QB they can play with for the next 4-5 years, the 49ers finally found that. that's feminine behavior.

In their first full year together, Shanny and Brock went to a SB, that's pretty damn impressive if you step back and look at it. Brock led the league in most QB categories as well, damn impressive. If Brock takes another step, there is no telling where this will go with Kyle....the kid didn't even have an offseason.

Great point about Harbaugh. People still worship the guy but to me the loss to the Ravens is way worse than our losses to the Chiefs. We easily had the better team and QB. Great OL, dominant defense. Stacked across the board. Not to mention the opposing HC was Jim's own brother - you're not going to know another coach any better than that.

We came out unprepared and needed a blackout to get us back into the game and still blew it at the end. People don't call him a choker and you already have people picking Chargers to rep the AFC in the SB just cuz he was hired as their HC.

The good news for us is I believe Brock Purdy is a QB who you can win a SB with. He may not be Patrick Mahomes and that's ok, nobody else in the NFL is either. But until otherwise we still have a great roster around him and have a chance to get the job done.

Shanahan needs to learn from his mistakes and hopefully the new DC will be a good match for our players. Improve the OL, find a solid outside corner or nickel to play with Ward and Lenoir. We stay healthy and we can find ourselves right back in it.

It was absolutely inexcusable to lose that game. They lost to freaking Joe Flacco and 40 year old Ray Lewis. Ball at the 5 yard line and Gore doesn't even touch the ball lol. Freaking clownshow, now THAT was a choke. Then they had a chance to beat the Seahawks but they kept trying to force it to Crabtree, disgusting. Those 49ers teams were the most stacked team in the entire league, just stacked everywhere (except for WR)....best Defense ever.

The multiple fade passes to Crabtree were bad play calls (should have tried passes to Vernon Davis or single-covered Moss)--but the last pass was horrible DPI. Can't blame Harbaugh for that awful non-call. (And I am non-biased here. Viking fan).

2012-13 postseason: 11 TD's, 0 Ints, 285 YPG, 118 QB rating. 3 of the wins were against very good defenses too in SF (2nd), Denver (4th), and NE (9th).

Though it was funny timing considering we had conversations about Jed York/Shanahan not being good.

NFLPA player report card just came out. 49ers were 6th overall in the NFL with their training staff/room being the worst part in the rankings.

The 49ers finish the year ranked 6th overall. The positives for the team start at the top of the organization, with the players giving high marks to the club ownership group and CEO Jed York along with head coach Kyle Shanahan. Responding players also highly ranked the treatment of families and the food program.

    Players gave Kyle an A
    Players gave Jed an A-

They have their faults but they're doing a good job per the people around them. Now they just have to get their stuff together this offseason and get that final W of the postseason.

for Gore not to touch the ball there is inexplicable. hell even Vernon didn't get a look, ridiculous calls. it may have been a dpi but Kaep also was wildly inaccurate with his passes.

there is a huge disconnect between what is ACTUALLY happening vs what the online fanatics think. Online fanatics have been polarized due to 49ers media content creators who clickbait with negative Shanahan opinions and bashing the org - plus the younger generation of fans has never won a SB and feel entitled to it.....and then you factor in that it's the bay area and it's full of feminine men who can't control their emotions and ingest too much soy.
