Do you mean to say AAA gaming specifically? Some of the best games I played this year were "AAA", (RE4, Dead Space, Ragnarok). There is also a lot of AAA trash that gets released at high end price point. I don't know how anyone isn't underwhelmed while paying $70 minimum for a game they won't actually own.

There are a million smaller titles, "indie" or not, that can give you far more enjoyment.

Yeah, last year was the best year of gaming in my entire life and that's why I'm completely dumbfounded when people say gaming sucks today. They will hyper focus on a big game they didn't like while completely ignoring that fact that for every one of those there are literally hundreds of new releases they would love if they did basic research.
