yeah the contract ends after this year's GP so they have to renegotiate...
I'm probably biased but imo there are a couple of tracks with so much history they just HAVE to be on the calender and Francorchamps is one of them
now they might drop them in favor of new tracks (that offer more money of course)... no surprise there but it would be a real shame+++ miscin' at work crew +++

strong 5 month bump
so ricciardo got paid to leave
piastri to mclaren official
gasly to alpine???
msc chitcanned from haas and FDA???
colton herta to alpha tauri?? even though he doesnt qualify for a super license?? would need to run fp1 the rest of the season to even be close
open seats rn are alpine, haas, possibly AT and Williams(latifi likely gone). AR looks to be keeping ZG
was hopeful ric could get back in at alpine but looks like he might be the 3rd choice behind gasly and msc. just not sure he's willing to do haas or williams but taking a year off might close his f1 career for good

Ricciardo doesn't have the resume of Alonso who can waltz back into the sport on a whim. If he warms the pine for a year he'll be forgotten. Too many young drivers knocking on the door and he turns 35 in 2024. He really needed some strong performances in the last 3 months to convince Alpine to give their ex another go but he's been going backwards. Being booted for a rookie was demoralizing.
Alpine would have been a solid option since they have a better car and Lando would be seriously triggered after dominating him in a McLaren but then finishing behind him on Sundays next year.
I think he should go to Haas, try to drive the wheels off that thing, and have one last crack at impressing a better team. Everyone says he shouldn't have left Red Bull but he wasn't at a stage of his career where he could accept being a No. 2 like Perez who was thrown a lifeline. I think he should have stayed at Renault/Alpine where he was soundly beating Ocon and his reputation for being one of the top drivers was still intact.

thoughts on season so far?
redbull probably gonna win every race
AM is a distant 2nd but its great to see Chadlonso running up front again
Couldn't be happier for McLaren failing yet again
mercedes apparently willing to die on that hill in regards to their car design.

You couldn't have been closer to the truth.
4 months in the season and he was either 1st most of the time or second. Seems that all those charts with "RB domination is not as worse as Merc/Ferrari in the past" are dead wrong.
Anyway, good to see Lando pushing this hard since the upgrade. Race was pretty sick in the UK,
