Art was not great, I found the storyline obscure, not Alan Moore's finest. 3.5/5. +0.5 if you like Moore's absolute obsession with getting sexytimes into any comic that he's allowed to, skanky Victorian sex everywhere.

I can't see any way that the movie would be worth watching. You'd either need someone to ignore much of the source material's ideas and do a rip-roaring adventure flick with excellent period detail; or you get someone quirky to do their own weird take on it e.g. Coen Brothers. Reviews do not imply that either happened.

I liked the story but didn't understand WTF was going on about 2/3 the way through.

From Hell? They made a movie with Johnny Depp. It was good. V for Vendetta and Watchmen can’t be topped.

Enjoyed both those movies and liked both comics more than From Hell.

They're all ~60 issues so significantly longer than a single graphic novel. Good art and writing for the duration of the runs though.

since you don't want superheros it narrows it down quite a bit lol

seconding Preacher as mentioned above, imo the GOAT

I enjoyed Sweet Tooth as well

and maybe give The Mask a shot

Did you read Electra:Assassin? Oldie but a goodie, I would say up there with Dark Knight.

Sandman is GOAT comic.

V for Vendetta - sooo much better than the movie. I can understand why Alan Moore didn't want anything to do with it.

i read the OG b&w. found out about the color version halfway
loved the 1st vol of Preacher . especially that buddy cop part
