There was a noticeable drop in overall animation quality in the OVA, plus I haven't seen any advertising art with the characters in quite some time.

The last novel volume to come out was November 9, 2019, and the last manga chapter was September 10, 2021.

For Fall 2021 this list is pretty good


Mushoku Tensei imo is anime of the year. Fantasy on steroids. Very immersive world and nuanced world building.

Mieruko-chan is horror but not that scary, more lile a relaxing slice-of-life horror comedy.

Heard a lot of good things about Ranking of Kings and 86 but havent tried them yet.

Not sure how long you havent watched anime but if you havent seen Jujutsu Kaisen that animes fights and animation are really fun to watch.
