It gets even worse when I lift, I’m burping the entire time. I don’t drink soda, don’t eat fried foods often and rarely drink. Any suggestions?

I used to and believe I still do. Went to the ENT he checked my vocal chords cause i was complaining of hoarseness. He sent me to a specialist which performed an endoscopy on me. Found nothing major but still prescribed omeprazole.
They say cut out caffeine and soda and alcohol but i think that’s bs cause it made no difference.
I upped my broccoli kale spinach intake and that helped.
Obviously spicy food with caffeine is a big noEL PASO★STRONG

It's because you eat processed food.
Eat leafy green vegetables after every meal.

Probably it differs from person to person.
Been there and done that but not anymore.
What helped me once.
1. Drinking milk
2. Eating less at a time.
3. Stop eating an hour before bed.
4. Stop eating a specific food. (In my case, it's rice. I start eating bread instead.)
I never used any antacids.
Good luck, brother.🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022

This. Sleeping on an incline is what cured my Gerd also. I won't give up spicy foods, though, as I love it too much and live on hot peppers. On a scale of spicy level 1-10 for Thai food, I pick 8 (would go 9, but try to keep it lowish to not go too overboard). If I'm at a hotel, I ask for 6 pillows. 3-4 to create the incline, then one pillow on each side so when I lean to either side, I don't go all the way on my stomach, which I love sleeping on. Since I cannot sleep on my side or my back, I have to "fake" laying on my stomach to trick my brain thinking that's what I'm doing, otherwise, I can't sleep.
PS I also drink 4-5 cups of milk per day, which also helps, I believe.

I hAd it real bad long time ago and looking back it was cuz I was eating like chit - was eating more calories than I was burning (probably 500 or more excess per day)
I get it now only if Overeat for a couple days straight. Skipping a couple meals fixes it right up.
Are you gaining weight or eating extra calories?**^^ gone ^^**

I just started having it this year for the first time after being treated for a gut infection called H Pylori. Its actually a very common infection, and many people that have it dont even show symptoms.
I had an endoscopy done and they found I also had a small hiatal hernia which impacts the valve that closes off the stomach contents from the lower eso****us.
on top of what others said heres my suggestions:
- Get a stool sample done to test for any gut infections
- Get an endoscopy done
- Possibly test for SIBO and fructose malabsorption (this is where I am at).You never wont know what you cant achieve until you dont achieve it.

I had an endoscopy done when I was younger and there was a defect with the valve at the base of my eso****us. It doesn't close properly so gastric juices will come up. I take a generic of nexium every 2 days or so srs.

I've been diagnosed with eosinophilic eso****itis through multiple endoscopies which causes a host of digestive issues including terrible chronic heartburn. I'm still on omaprazole but as others have said, the thing that has more or less cured my years of daily heartburn has been sleeping on an incline. I sleep on this every night:

It has been a true miracle. I highly suggest getting this mattress if you're serious about curing your heartburn.Never neg first but always neg back crew

I get it when I eat acidic foods or if I overeat especially carbs. I agree with sleeping at an incline helps also. If you need to take meds to control it, you probably should. If you try to live with it your entire life (many many years), it can be a cause of laryngeal cancer which has a very bad prognosis.

^^^Super solid post and the advice in the thread that OP should actually follow.
I had horrible acid for over a decade, so bad I would cough when I ate, cough all night, etc. Completely cured it following similar advice to above. I'd only add:
-Get on a quality pro/prebiotic to fix up your gut bacteria
-Instead of going cold turkey on a bunch of foods, consider individually eliminating likely triggers until you find what's causing it the most. I'd start with tomatoes/sauce, spicy/pepper, bread
- DO NOT take any OTC anti-acids (nexium, prilosec, pepcid). They are terrible for you. Take tums/rolaids only if you absolutely must."I'm just a lat guy, you know? I've got these amazing lats, and I'm just living in an ab guy's world." -Workaholics

Do the natural way that TugOfPeace suggested. Look up Amazing Grass on Amazon for digestive enzymes too. https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Grass.../dp/B010NBNZQG
You want to get off of omeprazole since it can lead to kidney damage if you take it too long.
I personally stop eating at minimum 6 hours before bed since beef takes the longest to digest in your stomach.

i had acid reflux and the doctors just blamed it on GERD after an endoscopy
put me on PPIs which are fukking garbage if you are trying to have good digestion and gain mass
found out that the issue was not having enough digestive enzymes for the amount of protein I was eating so I started supplementing pepsin and betaine hcl with every high protein meal and it disappeared**worthless college major crew**

I had the same problem OP, you may have a hiatal hernia were basically part of your stomach is coming through your diaphragm and your stomach doesn't block the acid correctly. My hiatal hernia was probably caused by poor posture from gaming my whole childhood. Ever since I fixed my posture, acid reflux has pretty much gone away without changing anything I eat.
