I have a RML-490 with safety straps and I am tired of how long they are and how much they droop. When I look at Brandon Campbell's RM-3's straps they are more straight across and don't droop that much which would be easier to setup properly. I don't know why mine seem so much longer proportionally but it makes it hard to get the perfect spacing.
Since I have the brackets already are there any straps I can buy that are slightly shorter? I have a feeling this is a shot in the dark but if anyone knows you guys would.

It would be time consuming for an amateur..... but couldn't you just pay a seamstress to remove the stitching and re-sow them a little shorter? Not sure what it would cost, but I can't imagine it'd be much.

I understand, I've got a buddy that's a (local to me) union sew dude and he makes seats and other heavy duty stuff on the side. I'm sure there are people capable of sewing those locally for you. Could also look for a local Rigging supply company, a supplier of straps and such for construction..... they can usually custom size nylon straps for you.

Vulcan Strength has them for their 3x3 36" slim fit rack and could sell you just the straps. I can say from experience they are well sewn and I'd trust the straps. I would not trust that ordering from their customer service will go well. I'd call because email is hit or miss at best. I also wouldn't recommend the brackets they use to attach the straps. But the straps themselves are solid.

IIRC that guy did some sort of hack to his straps to get the degree of slack he wanted, I'll see if I can find it
EDIT: Never mind, he says there's not too much slack, in fact maybe not enough; he changed how they adjust on the rack. I'll leave this post up in case anybody is interested in that mod.

I sorta felt my Titan straps had a bit too much slack as well. So I also went looking for something.
I ended up getting these https://liftsupply.com/collections/g...b-sling-type-3
They're only a couple inches shorter than the Titan ones. But they did take out a little slack, and they definitely feel nicer in quality. I like the color contrast as well, looks like Spud Inc gear. Delivery took just over 2 weeks.

I did contact Spud about theirs and unfortunately they do not sell the straps alone so you have to buy the brackets too. They did say they hope to offer them as a standalone product in the future so I'll probably wait for those. Right now I have my straps set in a good position, I would just rather be able to adjust them with less slack.
