Started getting knee pain in both knees as I entered my mid-30s. I stopped lifting at the gym since the gay covid shutdowns and only do home workouts with bodyweight and some poverty 25 lb dbs. But what can I do about this knee pain? I seem too young for this. I don"t really notice it unless I do some activity where I am running or jumping, but it lasts for a few days. It's especially noticeable when going up or down stairs. I used to squat at the gym, but I don't think I went past like 250lbs for reps.

You're old now, we need to actually focus on stretching and mobility more than before. Warming up correctly also goes a long way
Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee

Depends where the pain is. Is it actually deep in the joint when taking off or landing or just residual soreness after performing plyo movements?
Also, if it isn't affecting day to day movement it likely isn't anything serious, just lack of tissue integrity. You also might be getting some cartilage degeneration which means if you work on strength it will help a lot.

did you just start getting knee pain randomly? did you do certain activities you've never really done before before you started getting it? Maybe something with your home workouts. Could also be that muscles that help support the knee (i.e: hamstrings) have weakened from being off the gym and now it's rearing its ugly head.
see a sports PT or somebody that specializes in knee pain. outside of arthiritis or other condition, you can probably strengthen your knees with some exercises.positivity brah crew

Probably a hinderance while running, but compression sleeves for the knees are a LIFESAVER in the gym when it comes to lifts. I legit can't fathom doing squats without them.

This is terrible advice lmao. OP is 30... he doesn't need surgery
If I were you OP I would try some physical therapy. Im a PT and im willing to bet that your hips are weak and targeting those with strengthening exercises will help take a considerable amount of pressure off your knees. Hard to tell because there can be several factors at play but Id bet thats playing a large role.
