It is a good show, but I do agree the backstories get tedious to sit through with all the whining involved in them. The main reason to watch them is for 1.) Backstory of course if you care for that character and 2.) Characters may pop up later that showed up in back story. However, you can just watch an episode recap to cliff what's relevant later.

At the end of the day, everyone has a sob story to tell and that cliffs the backstory.

As far as the survival parts, island lore and exploration, and when they start connecting the dots, it gets juicy. Ben Linus and Desmond were probably my favorite characters besides the eye candy.. They have some cool backstories. Mr. Ecko too.

By far the worst parts for me were hearing "Waaaalt" and "mah baby" episode after episode.

Edit: I don't tote it as a GOAT tier show though. It's good, but there's definitely better stuff out there to spend time on if you're not overly enjoying it.

I think I'm one of the few people who didn't mind the ending. It wasn't the best but I still enjoyed it. The show gives you too many questions and not enough answers. It's been so long since I've seen that show that I actually watched the final season on DVDs from Netflix lol so maybe I just don't remember the answers to all the questions. Desmond and Sawyer were both awesome characters

It wasn't you. They introduced mysteries that they had no ending for and that they would figure out later. Just had to hook you first
