It’s supposed to be a last resort/desperation move which are huge in Japan.
Big moves like that are only busted out on occasion when a wrestlers first or second finishing move fails to get them the pin.
Kawada and misawa were rivals for a lot of years and fans seen kawada come up short many many times because misawa was the man in Japan. He was the champ. The guy. He always won because he was too good. The storyline was kawada would need to break out something sick to put him away this time. When he did it, fans recognized it and it actually became a mark out moment In all of Japan.
It was reserved for that moment.
Kenta kobashi
Mitsuharu misawa
Toshiaki kawada
Dr. Death Steve Williams
Jumbo tsuruta (was the top dog in the 90s then he passed the torch onto misawa to carry Japan for the coming 90s).
Stan Hansen
Vader
....
All had more than 1 finishing move some reserved as big last ditch effort moves for when they cannot finish an opponent. Those are huge in Japan the fans go nuts.
Most of these have been used a handful of times. And most of these target the head and/or neck.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)
Always go full potato crew
