Dad passed in 2017. Life hasn’t been the same. It certainly has made me stronger emotionally, but damn I miss the guy. Thank God mom is healthy and strong, but the hollowness is still there.

i lost my mom when i was 10 like 18 years ago. u never really get over it. it feels like cope most of the time

Lost my real dad 5 years ago. Lost my step dad last week after 20 years of being married to my mom.

Dad passed away on july (Lung/Liver cancer, alzheimer, covid.. a really ****ty combo)
My relationship with him wasnt the best and thats what really hurts.. we will never have another chance to put our stuff together..
But will be forever missed

My dad ended up checking out around then, also.
never really got over it. connecting with a good network/leadership helps, as does responsibility for someone else. degen stuff hurts, though healthy stuff does not feel as powerful as it used to.
