I am writing this at the tail-end of an intensive 5 week pain rehabilitation program due to juvenile arthritis/a nervous disorder. Over the course of this PT-intensive program, I have found a love for lifting and working out and want to bulk up; I'm tired of being skinny. I am currently 5'9" 123 lbs and am planning to eat a minimum 120g protein a day and 3.5k calories once I return home in a week. I'm planning to follow babylover's starting strength once I return (Thread: Why the traditional Rippetoe/SS program sucks balls). I have found I recover very quickly so I plan to work weekdays and rest weekends. Does this sound reasonable? Is there anything I need to know that I might not have stumbled across while browsing the forums?
Thanks fellas.

I finished my bulk today and I've made a lot of progression with strength and muscle, but I gained a lot of fat as well. I did a push pull legs program that required me to be in the gym 6 days a week. I was wondering if I should stay with this program during my cut, or should I just go 3 days a week for ppl. I'm wondering because during a cut I'm eating less. I'm eating around 1800.

Yeah I'm afraid of looking too skinny if I cut too much but opposite goes for lean bulking aswell. I have some muscle though, I can bench 65kgs and deadlift 90kgs. I've reverse dieted into lean bulking now and going into my third week. How long should I lean bulk for? I don't want to go above 15% bodyfat and im quite close as it is.

Hey unironic stupid question:
I’ve been doing dumbbell tricep kickbacks and I’ve noticed that my triceps won’t allow any more exentsion even though I’m under 90 degrees. I’ve tried going to the smallest weights I have (10lb) to double the weight (20lb) and the point of max extension is still the same (80 degrees ish.) I doubt this is an issue of strength as other tricep exercises I can complete with heavier weight without issue. But I could be wrong.
Has anybody else experienced this isssue aswell And is their a fix?

Help
Hey I'm currently 17 and doing the fierce 5 workout intermediate program and one of the exercises is deadlifiting and pendlay rows. I currently go to a apartment gym and until I'm 18, im not gonna be able to go to a actual gym. The apartment gym doesn't have a barbell and only a smith machine and its impossible to do these lifts on a smith machine. I replace pendlaw rows with upright rows and deadlifting with leg curls on a machine. Is is this okay?

All cards on the table I'm on Madcow 5x5.
So I willingly took last week off to have a Marvel marathon with my family (of all things!) and deloaded 10% on all of my big lifts. Everything felt great this week dropping 10%, but something unexpected came up and I will have to miss gym for all of next week as I'm making a trip to somewhere, though this time I won't be a couch potato or eating like a pig.
Since I've already dropped 10% on everything and since I've only been back for a week, will I have to deload 10% again? 5%? Will I be fine, or should I just have a day where I see what I can do when I get back?BW 151 lbs; 16 yrs old:

BP 175

I lift for fun :D

My brother grew up thinking that if I go to the gym and get a 6 pack that all the ladies would just come flock to him xD. Yeah... he swore he would have dated Ana Cheri at this point and obviously this isnt the case LOL. Now he's crying about his dating life and I told him all this time that it wouldnt be like that. Anybody here still have no achieved their dream dating/relationship life? What are 2 of the biggest issues you've come across and what does would your ideal relationship look like?
Try to be as open as you can cuz I'm really curious as to what people's responses might be. Feel free to even message me your answers. Looking forward to reading your responses! Thank you all in advanced.

I just started lifting, I’m 13, 5’0, and 81 pounds. Just learned about bulking and I’m starting that up, and a have a couple questions.
1: What chest exercises are there? I know about bench press (+variations), flies, and pushups, but that’s it. My chest is one of my main things that I’m looking to build, but I can’t find more than like 5 exercises.
2: Also, I can’t find a lot of leg exercises. I know the really basic ones, but I could use some others
3: Just started bulking, I have school so I can’t have more than 4 meals, and at 81 pounds I need to gain some weight. Right now I’m around 2,500 calories which seems good, but I’m a beginner and any and every tip is appreciated
4: Sometimes I get really into a workout and want to do more and more, but since I don’t eat that much I try not to. Also, I read somewhere about overloading the nervous system or something? So usually I don’t go, but if I could I definitely would, I just don’t want to injure myself or anything. Is it safe to double the workout?
Thank you!Last edited by Tswag89; 09-01-2019 at 06:00 PM.

I recently added HIIT cardio after my workouts (To speed up my cutting phase). My program is PPL rest PPL (6 days a week). I was wondering if it's best to do HIIT cardio either:
Right after my weight training or would it be better to do finish my weight training, rest, eat, then do HIIT cardio later in the day.
I tried doing HIIT right after my weight training and I feel SUPER drained. I was wondering if this is the cause of my energy already being used up for my weight training.
PS: I do HIIT cardio 3-4 times a week
What do you think? Thanks
