Questions by position
QB
-Is Mahomes worth an early 3rd round pick in fantasy? Outlook seems kinda bleak with Tyreek's looming exemption + defenses have had a year to study how he plays
-How early would you take Baker?
-When are you even taking a QB? (did a quick count and there are easily 18-20 draftable QBs)
WR
-OBJ? (currently ranked 10th overall)
-Will JuJu take the next big step without AB around?
-How will AB do?
-WR doesn't seem as deep as it usually is, and WR positions are especially valuable in 2 wr + 1 flex leagues for ppr
-fav later round guy for you?
RB
skipping RB questions because there's too many
TE
Big dropoff after the first 3 TEs (Kelce Ertz Kittle), you waiting till later to snag someone? TE was criminally bad last year as a position
K
k.
DEF
Who are the Bears of this year? Browns looking good

welcome.
early answers that i will look back at and laugh in 9 months
QB
-Is Mahomes worth an early 3rd round pick in fantasy?
NO, no QB is, this reminds me of Cam's big 2015 season where he was going as the top dog and understandably so but it rarely plays out that way. losing hunt and reek doesn't help. league will adjust to him. doesn't mean he won't be good just not THAT good. Andrew Luck could very well out-score him and will probably go a round or so after him.
-How early would you take Baker?
not early enough for where he'll go. hype city. again like above i think he can be very good just too expensive for me
-When are you even taking a QB? (did a quick count and there are easily 18-20 draftable QBs)
i usually come up with a tiered list. as long as guys within a tier are still on the board i won't take them. so if i have, lets say newton-wentz-rivers-watson in the same tier i hold off drafting any of them until one or two are gone.
WR
-OBJ? (currently ranked 10th overall)
Hopkins is king but after that you can rank OB anywhere you want. i'd probably prefer somebody like Devante but Odell is a fine choice in the top 3-4 WRs
-Will JuJu take the next big step without AB around?
maybe, but he doesn't really have to. he's already a big time WR in fantasy.
-How will AB do?
he'll do well but not be overall WR1 like the old days off that PIT offense + wrong side of 30 yrs old
-WR doesn't seem as deep as it usually is, and WR positions are especially valuable in 2 wr + 1 flex leagues for ppr
That'll change, cyclically it always does
-fav later round guy for you?
off top of my head:
DJ Moore in Carolina
Funchess in Indy
Chris Godwin in Tampa
RB
skipping RB questions because there's too many
lol.
TE
Big dropoff after the first 3 TEs (Kelce Ertz Kittle), you waiting till later to snag someone? TE was criminally bad last year as a position
will probably wait. is Ebron still a thing in Indy? if so go him
Who are the Bears of this year? Browns looking good
not if that offense puts points up

-Agreed on your thoughts about Mahomes, especially with no Hunt and no Hill now. He's still got Kelce and Watkins and Williams + the new Tyreek clone but a regression should definitely be coming. Luck might be flying under the radar this year, definitely wouldn't mind him in the later rounds (edit - Luck is ranked 50 and QB4...might be a bit rich for my blood actually).
in the later rounds..second year upstarts or proven vets? (aka Lamar Jackson/Josh Allen vs Tom Brady/Philip Rivers). They're all ranked in the same area
I like your idea of the tier list, I usually do one too with a hard cutoff at who I would be comfortable starting w2w. Pick a QB when there are 2-3 guys left at that red line
Ebron is a bit underrated this year at TE8 but could regress from having 13 TDs last season. I'm thinking I want a TE early this year so I can set and forget and not have to play who-is-going-score-the-td this week with the TE FAs
In regards to defense, a good offense means the defense has more opportunities to rack up sacks/ints as the other team plays catch-up. It also includes probably giving up more points so double edged sword. Not really seeing a defense I love so it'll probably just be whoever is there when I'm making the last two round picks and then pick up a new defense after week 1
First RB question:
who are you absolutely avoiding this year? (given fair ADP and no giant free falls)
I'm not going to draft Gurley most likely, or Dalvin Cook, or Derrick Henry
Most likely don't want Fournette, no Miller, no McCoy, and probably take a second look at any RB whose team drafted another upstart RB to see if it ends up being a RBBC (see Chicago, Philly, Baltimore)

In!
To add a little something to this thread Matt Ryan only plays 3 non-dome games this year depending on his ADP I may be targeting him, though as Yuja said QB seems very deep.
Also from the rookie WR's I'm interested in Deebo Samuel, after Dante Pettis (who I also like) not much else for competition at WR in SF so I think he'll get his shot right away.Height = 6'3"
Weight = 215
Max
Bench = 335
Squat = 365
Dead = 425

David Johnson is the big pick for that. i bet by draft day his stock is back up in the first round. especially as the hype train surrounding Murray rolls on.
Freeman in ATL could have one more big year in him. he's "only" 27, i know he's an older 27 with miles on him and injuries but i would keep an eye on him
