Hey, anyone still around these parts? LOL! Its been a minute since I have been around. What have I missed?
Ok, I am turning 50 in June and decided to reward myself with a very frivolous thing - I have booked a photoshoot! Closest to a stage I will ever be again. Haha! I started this "prep" at 20 weeks out in Jan ...thinking I had lots of time. And just like that, here we are, at the halfway point. Its been a slow process and weight is not coming off as easy as it did years ago. Welcome to middle age, right?
Start Date - Jan 11th 2019
Shoot Date - June 6th 2019
Starting weight - 135lbs Body Fat - 21.48%
Current weight - 129.2lbs Body Fat - 18.58%
Macros:
Pro - 150
Carbs - 122
Fat - 63
Calories - 1655
I started with calories at 2015. Dropped a couple of times in the last 10 weeks. Hopefully I won't have to go too much lower.
Workout Program:
Mon - Chest and Tri's, 30 min LISS
Tues - Legs, 30 min LISS
Wed - 45 min cardio
Thurs - Back and Bi's, 30 min LISS
Fri - Shoulders and Traps, 30 min LISS
Abs everyday. Weekends off for now, until the point comes where I add more cardio.
Ok, lets get this party started.

Thurs March 21st - Day 70
Yup, leg day is the worst! As I get older, the longer recovery is. I tried a month or so ago to do a 5 day split instead of the 4 that I have been doing for a couple of years......did not go so well. By mid week I was zonked. Switched back to my 4 day week after 2 weeks of that, and feeling much better.
No sun yet..but I am hopefull.

I took my son sliding a few weeks ago and bashed my arm off a tree stump. My whole arm was one nasty bruise and my shoulder has not been the same since. I did 45 min today, only because I was listening to a podcast that I was really into. LOL!

Last week March 22nd - 127.6 lbs - BF % = 18.21
Today - end of week 11 - 128.4 lbs - BF % = 18.54
So UP in weight. GRRR! I have not decided right yet if I will cut cals, add cardio, both or do nothing and see what next week brings. I am leaning toward adding cardio ... I absolutely refuse to have to cut on less than 1600 cals....just won't do it. At 1650 right now.

Mon April 8th 2019 - Day 88
Day 88 and upper body training,as of this morning, has come to a halt. My shoulder is pretty beat up and damaged. I am told no upper training for 8 weeks, then pt, then possibly surgery.
So here we are with 8 weeks to go and I don't know what to do. I can continue to train lower body and do cardio for the the remaining time and hope the upper body muscle loss is not that significant ( lets be real though.....right) and keep the date for the shoot. I could postpone it, but I really really don't want to do that, or I could move it up a few weeks and even though I will not be quite as lean as I had hoped, be happy with that.
My original thoughts were to just keep plugging for the 8 weeks. Train lower body, abs 3 times per week, and keep cardio where it is...
So....advice anyone?
