So I've been looking at a weapon light for my AR more. I was even playing w/ a 960 Lumen Flashlight vs my TLR-7 Light (500 Lumens) in my apartment to see the hotspot and spill. I'm convinced I will get a weapon light that is 1000 Lumens. Surefire has a DualFire Scout that is 1000 Lumens but that's too much. Their Scout Ultra is nice at 1000 Lumens.
The Streamlight HL-X is a strong contender but I feel it is bigger in profile than the Surefire and not to mention weighs about an ounce more. Obviously price point is a concern. I wish I could test both of them myself without any $$$ involved. I would also get a Cloud Defensive LCS for either one of them.A hit was sent, from the President, to raid your residence /

Hickenlooper is the one who really effed us on the magazine ban. He came out on national tv right after the Aurora theater shooting and proclaimed that he didn't see any need for more gun control because it wouldn't have stopped a lunatic bent on doing something like that.
Then he turned around and ignored massive public opposition to the law . . . pretended that he had no clue that it was so unpopular and that he would have maybe done things differently if he had the chance to do it again since it was so divisive---but that he ultimately signed the bill because "someone in his office committed to signing it". He is a *******.
Exhibit A . . . speaking to a room full of sheriffs (who opposed the bill publicly en masse):

They did something literally every big player in the defense world does. But they're the devil for it. Whether or not you can find evidence on the internet, all big names in defense donate to both D's and R's. So start selling any product you own from a company who has or has had a defense contract with the US govt.
Surefire > all.

They're turned to by politicians as a mouth piece for this topic, because like you said they're (incorrectly) viewed as a population who's opinion would be based on witnessing the effects of the laws. But that isn't what their opinions are based on (at least the higher ups/unions). They aren't looking out for the best interests of the citizenry. Nor are they looking at whether or not it's constitutional. They mostly look at whether or not it makes their jobs easier. The politicians can then use it to get support from the citizens, because people generally respect the fact that cops jobs can be difficult and thus you're helping out the good guys if you support it too.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Any opinions on wireless security cams? Any worth a shyt? My living situation is temporary at the moment so I do not want to go drilling and running line all over the place.

How about plugging in for AC power (regular outlet, 25 foot cord) but using WiFi for the AV? Few residential setups run wires to the cameras from a central location/DVR these days.
Nest.
Arlo was the go to for wireless but they seem to be shooting themselves in the foot.

Arlo is by far the least expensive major player (low initial cost and no ongoing fees), and also by far the easiest to set up. The drawbacks are having to replace batteries from time to time (not the cheapest size, and it can be annoying esp for hard to reach/access camera locations) and potentially missing a lot of what happens because they only record short clips when they detect motion, so you won't get everything either because motion is missed or because of a delay or because it stops before the action stops, and you don't want to use them for high traffic areas as the batteries will run down too fast. There are other more advanced and expensive cameras, pro and whatever, with more options for power delivery but that increases price and setup requirements while still having limitations so I figure why not just get Nest at that point. Their new cameras released not long ago seem almost universally hated, too...
The Nest is more expensive and if you want recordings you have to pay a subscription, but the price is reasonable and you get 24/7 recording in HD for 5 days (longer if you pay more) from which you can download selected clips so you shouldn't miss anything.
I have had Arlo for several years and Nest for about a year and a half. Other than a couple really hard to access locations with no power supply and virtually no people or canine traffic (ever), Nest is by far my preference
