Testing maxes this week and taking some video for a form check. Bench wasn't my best yesterday, fell 10lbs short of my previous max and it was a grinder. Previous max moved way better.
Squats on the other hand went swimmingly this morning. Getting back up to the level I was at last year before I hurt my back and had to start fresh. Got up to a training max of 435 this morning and it ****ing moved. Def had more in me but decided to play it safe and back down for some rep work after. Felt like I probably could have hit a 450 at least, so really pleased with squat progression again. Also back to squatting in my powerlifts and absolutely loving them. Depth is nice.
Overhead press on Sat and deadlift on Sunday, hoping for the best.Squat and Deadlift

Been struggling with sciatica in the left leg, no back pain. Went to physio yesterday and they more or less confirmed that I have a L5-S1 bulge/herniation... can't confirm without MRI but not really any point as I'm sure that's the case. I have no reflex in my left foot... pretty weird.
Anyway, lots of upper body training in the forecast and 5-6 weeks of physio appts.5/3/1 Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=151996283

Yeah, I know I can... just some time. The place I went to was within walking distance, guy is a chiro and also does ART, acupuncture. He seemed like he knew his stuff, said he doesn't recommend adjustments for it. He did some manual traction on both my legs, some ART on my left leg/hip and acupuncture with stim on the left. It was better this morning... probably some placebo effect. Getting in the car in the morning is the worst.

Ditto. Cracked a disc in my early twenties. Posterior has never been the same, but deadlifting and squatting has helped me a lot, my only issue has been how hard I try to go and testing maxes, and days where my form has been off. So if health is main priority, just don't work in too high percentages and make form your priority.
Good luck with the recoverySquat and Deadlift

Yeah for sure. I don't think the form was an issue, probably just overdid it on the volume. It wasn't acute injury, just something that slowly became worse over time. Not to mention training early morning probably wasn't ideal.
I think at my age, 2 kids and that I'm not going to be doing a PL competition any time soon, I'm going to drop conventional DL and sets of 5 and below. I'll stick to RDL's and good mornings at 8+ reps. I already got a gym membership so I can train during work... so no more early morning training.5/3/1 Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=151996283

Sounds like a good plan.
That's always been a concern of mine as well, training first thing in the morning. So far so good, but I've learned to really take my time warming up, and ideally, I'd love to train mid day again. Just doesn't make sense in my calendar anymore, and with Zoey starting daycare in May, I think the morning training is going to continue.
I hope I never have to stop with the strength based work, but I also have to be realistic about pushing beyond the point of health, which seems to be what I enjoy most :/Squat and Deadlift

Strict press is infuriating to progress sometimes it seems, and hit or miss on the 1RM IME on fractions of fractions of an inch on getting bar patch and everything else just right I hate walking up to a 1RM attempt knowing I can't just will through it if it's close, it's either there or it's not (for me)

As am I! Can't wait to try it and also a few of the other flavors I didn't try. Still need to get some Confetti Cake before no longer available from where can be ordered.
I really like Nutrabio as a company and they do well with profiles and flavoring but MAN is a step above in terms of their flavoring. Still want to try the new flavors from Nutrabio though.
I have had a few of those Unicorn/Unico Apollo protein flavors as I bought the sample box as well as 2 each of their bars.
First flavor I tried was the salted caramel one. Was real good but tasted very similar to Body Nutrition's Trutein version. Mixed about the same as well with similar texture. A bit thicker, which I like, but also a distinct texture that is hard to explain. Not gritty but almost in a way. Difference though is the Trutein is named as a salted caramel as this is just Candyshop Caramel Squares. Quest is also similar to this as well ow that I think of it.
Next I tried the Cookies ‘n Cream Dream. Mixed the same and flavor was not bad. I would rate several other cookies and cream flavors a bit higher though. Blue Star Milk and COokies and Beverly are 2 off the top of my head a little above. Still a decent flavor just not much "wow" factor in what I like in a cookies and cream flavor.
Last was just had for lunch in the Birthday Cake Cupcake with Rainbow Sprinkles. Simply amazing. A nice sweet, but not too sweet, birthday cake and has sprinkles. Overall a very well done flavor true to it's name. Would and will buy again.
I had the iced cinnamon roll bar. Not bad but a bit chewy. Similar to some I had in the past but can't recall. Maybe the Fit Crunch.
Few other new items I have tried that will be up in the review section. 3 flavors of Nutrabio EAA Energy.
