Damn, totally missed this discussion lol
Anywho, did we decide, or are we going to vote on, taxi players or whatever it is where you can keep rookies and chit outside of your main roster? We briefly brought this up but don't recall what ever came of it?

Ok boyos our inaugural season is on the books. Congratulations to our champion Tyler2106 as well as our runner up Flex City, and points leader Kareem’d My Hunt.
Tyler & Oliver agreed on an adjusted payout so the final breakdown was:
Tyler2106: $300
Flex City: $200
Kareem’d My Hunt: $100
Leaguesafe makes payouts available on December 26th so I will try to get them out to you then.
Dynasty season never truly ends though so trades are back open for all teams and now is the time to start discussing the offseason and any potential changes for the league.
Firstly, the final draft order is as follows:
1. In Flash We Trust
2. Pat My Homes
3. Waytoodeep03
4. Icehouse
5. The Brown Note
6. Fiz-Iks
7. Kamara Sutra
8. Jake Buttstuff
9. Kareem’d My Hunt
10. Sick Kunts
11. Flex City
12. Tyler2106
This order was achieved by reverse standings in the regular season for the 6 non-playoff teams. As playoff teams were eliminated, their regular season standing served as the tie-breaker with the lower seeded team getting the earlier pick.
There have been some trades of draft picks so the full order is below:
Proposal #1: We move the league to the Sleeper platform.
It is free like yahoo but has much more dynasty functionality and will allow us to do things like have a slow-draft, trade draft picks DURING the draft, and implement a taxi squad. It will allow league activity year round unlike yahoo which shuts down in the offseason. This means less spreadsheets for me to keep track of offseason moves.
It has a perfectly functional app as well as website.
I have created a league for us if people want to come check it out. You won’t be able to do much until everyone is joined up and I import our rosters but here’s the link:
https://slpr.link/jdgbO6YJ2BO2
Like everything we discuss, it will be up for a vote so if people don’t like it we don’t have to move but it would make my life easier and make for better offseasons so I ask that everyone give it serious consideration.
Proposal #2: We implement a Taxi Squad
This is something Tyler has suggested and I agree with.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, taxi squads are a part of your roster that allow you to store rookies and/or 2nd year players without them taking up a bench spot. If you decide you want to start using the player, you have to promote them from your taxi squad and clear a space on your main roster for them. Think of it like the fantasy version of NFL teams practice squads. It basically just allows you to take a longer time horizon for your late round draft picks to develop. Given that we already have pretty deep rosters, it wouldn’t need to be big...say maybe 3-5 taxi slots.
Possible offseason timeline:
Next few weeks: Discuss and finalize changes for next season
January/February: Finalize keepers
May/June: Rookie Draft
May/June: Free Agency opens right after Rookie Draft
Let's open it up for discussion.....I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

I like the idea of taxi squads, but don't like having to use another app to do it.
Also, good season everyone. I thought for the most part that went really well without issues. Commish did a good job and sounds like this off season will be able to have discussions to make the league even better moving forward.
Can't wait for another year of taking all your moniesNew England Patriot

We're at 5 yes votes so far. Regardless of the eventual decision, everyone should join the sleeper league I created just to check it out. Make your username your misc username for easy identification. Once everyone is joined I can import rosters.

Most teams would get 2-3 open spots just by dropping excess qbs kickers and/or defenses. Then you have to decide if the 2-3 guys you have on your roster are worth more than 2-3 guys who might not be relevant. We have 30 spots already how many more do you need? You want to be able to have unlimited stashes so we can have every player owned just in case they become relevant? I guess I’m the only one that thinks roster management and decision making should count for something

We have 25 spots, not 30. There is no IR in the offseason. And in order to get all 5 draft picks you only keep 20. I agree with the need for roster management but believe me 20 keepers is not excessively large for a dynasty league.
Also Taxi squads add a different type of roster management. Firstly you can only keep rookies on them so it will be changing every year. You can't just stash people indefinitely 'just in case'. Secondly if the rookie performs well enough that you want to use them in a game, you have to promote them and cut someone from your active roster to make room for them.
I'm perfectly fine with not using them if people don't want, I just think they add another cool aspect.I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

I vote yes for Taxi Squad, but I need more explanation on how it interacts with the roster limits. I'm not understanding the whole thing with No IR in the off-season, only keep 20 players to get all your draft picks, etc.
edit: can we also get everyone to sign up for sleeper so I can't start making roster decisions? I was trying to drop some players, but yahoo is now locked for the off-season.*Strong Everything 2018 Champion*

Taxi squads are in addition to your normal 25 team roster, but completely separate. It's like a practice squad for real life football teams. You can fill your taxi squad with players you think needs time to develop and might not be fantasy relevant until later in the season. If you want to move over a taxi squad player to your main roster, you have to drop a player from your main roster (assuming you have a full 25 man roster).
The idea of having to move your IR players over to your main roster is because they're no longer on IR for this season.New England Patriot

This is 100% correct
Full switch. I guess theoretically we could just use sleeper as an offseason platform but that would create as many problems as it solves. I'd have to keep importing everything back and forth each year. We'd have to get everyone joined into new leagues each year. Etc.
One of the main ideas behind the move is so that we can have 1 platform that is consistently available 365 days a year for trades & communication.
Once we get everyone in, we can truly begin the offseason. I can import the rosters, we'll have months to use it, we'll draft with it, etc. If after that time people are hating it I can bring everything back to yahoo but I'd like for everyone to give it an honest assessment and not just chit on it because the layout is a bit different than yahoo lol.I call it "Celebration". I get where he is coming from though. I signed up for this league with the assumption it was going to be run through Yahoo, which I greatly prefer over any other site.
That being said, I haven't signed up for this new site so I don't know if it's worse, the same, or better than Yahoo.New England Patriot
