1970 is the default value for a lot of systems.
"The Unix epoch (or Unix time or POSIX time or Unix timestamp) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970 (midnight UTC/GMT), not counting leap seconds (in ISO 8601: 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)."There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

Is it really? I have never been able to find it in any of the settings that show up when you click on User CP. I just clicked on all the settings pages again (I think I hit all of them...), and didn't see it anywhere.
I do know where to set it, but unless I'm completely missing something, it's far from obvious how to find it. It certainly took me a while the first time, so I don't blame people too much for not finding it.
The relatively new problem is that the default age is shown for people who never changed their settings. I'm pretty sure that was not the case until sometime last year.

Looks like this poster won't need it anymore... But in case somebody else has problems finding it, the trick is that the setting is in your BodySpace profile, not the forum profile. Detailed instructions:
- Click on the avatar looking thingy close to the top-right corner of the page, the one just left of the shopping cart.
- In the menu that pops up, look at the right section, and you see a bunch of entries under the title "My BodySpace". The first one is "Dashboard". Click that one.
- In the page you're on now, there is a navigation pane on the left side. Click the entry at the very bottom, named "Manage Profile".
- You should now see a page with the title "About Me". Close to the top of that page, there is a set of dropdowns to enter your birthday, and one below it that lets you toggle between "Hide Age" and "Display Age".

Yes, of course it’s there.
It’s just weird that if a person doesn’t enter or doesn’t care to enter his/her age, the system makes a decision for him. I would think that the default should be an empty cell, just like it’s done for location - if I don’t enter it then nothing is displayed.
But it’s just me, at my age is entered correctly
