Solid review m8, Definitely has a few generic parts but didn't bother me much
Spoiler!
I'm a sucka for spanish movies so it ranked pretty high for me, specially since they don't go the usual hollywood screamers and violence way.
Heard good things about Annihilation, seems more like a Sci-fi Thriller, should be on Netflix tomorrow except in the US and China I think, will watch.

Veronica - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5862312/ - Pretty good, but seen it all before. 6/10

"The plot follows a family of four who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound."

The pool scene at the end was intense. Scariest movie of the 2000s I think
Theres also a pretty decent fan made trailer for a new nightmare on elm st movie.

Watched the Strangers movie. Not even close to the first (which was basically a masterpiece IMO), but still a fun flick. Lots of jumps and tension, but again, nowhere near as good as the first. If you have moviepass, go see it in theaters. Otherwise, I guess wait for dvd.
Also watched It Follows.
Spoiler!"It won't get better, just different."

Planning on watching it tonight, actually.
If you want a brainlessly fun movie, watch Psychopaths. There's no real story so it's basically just a collection of scenes, but I enjoyed it for what it wasStop it. Get some help.

Annihilation - pretentious and many times just plain dumb. A couple of good scenes. Reminded me of the book Roadside Picnic, but expected so much more. I guess this is what passes as a good movie now.
Also, nice to see Netflix taking its feminist madness a step further and, besides the usual propaganda, casting no white male in a speaking role.

Demon House - 6.7/10 - For the first half of the "film" it really just seemed like a standard ass episode of Ghost Hunters/Adventures stretched out to feature-length, but as it went on it got better. It seems like the people involved actually believe what was going on and if the things these people physically experience is true then it's pretty crazy. It's just always hard to tell what is real and what's embellished based on personal accounts. But it got more and more interesting as it went on and I'd recommend it for people who are a fan of ghost stories and the like.

Can't wait to get on some of these recommended movies.
Just finished
Veronica - I liked it; gave me an eerie feeling at the end
The Ritual - I liked this better than Veronica because I thought there were some original elements as well as a cool bro theme
1922 - Not really scary which Stephen King isn't always like "It"; good movie still
The Wailing - a Korean movie, which I like but confused af about certain things that probably have to do with cultural differences and understanding about paganism and shamans. Going to watch it again after I read other people's POV on the plot.
Hush is in my queue.

If it has a bunch of horror elements, for me it's horror. Not gonna list them here because spoilers. You should know what I'm talking about if you've seen it.
For me, it's one of the best horrors or maybe even movies in the past years. Check out the link in my sig for more Korean(and much more) madness. Horrors and thrillers will never be the same.

horror/sci fi
I thought that it was decent, visually at least, and well directed. It does, however, fall into that trap that my boy CrimsonSteel was talking about in this thread:
https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...post1546914121
People think that lack of explanation and ambiguous endings are "artistic" or genius, but really they are usually just lazy storytelling and mediocrity cloaked in an aura of pretentiousness.

Storm Warning - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800367 - Underrated and fun Australian horror. 8/10
Siren - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4667854 - Worth a watch, especially if you enjoyed the succubus episode in V/H/S. 6/10

If you've never heard of it then I also highly recommend All Hallow's Eve made by the same guy and featuring the same clown killer (it's an anthology and FAR better than its IMDB rating).
