I am confused, I would go in to detail as to why they both deserve it but in short:
Ramy wins front double, front lat, abs and thighs, side chest, rear lat
Phil wins side triceps, back double bicep and most muscular.
phil has a bad gut but better separation and pop and depth in his muscles. Ramy has more width but also carries like 30 pounds more muscle. Tough one to call, I would give the nod to Ramy.Grainy hardcore religious slabs of thick dense muscle. So grainy that it hurts your eyes

Congrats! I think Ramy wins in 2018. oh boy. We wont hear the end of gut comments(mostly in social media). I swear to god this sport will die in to non existence with Phil's reign lol. Its not his fault, he is a spectacular bodybuilder but he isnt that amazing in the comparison round unfortunately.

See, I feel like we have better thighs and glute separation so yes we did improve in some ways in the sport but really the overall quality isn't that impressive.
As for Phil being a 7 time Mr.Olympia, he looked unreal 1 year(2011 one of my all time in history of the sport), great 1 year (2013) and very good another year (2015). Even in those years maybe minus 2011, he loses poses in lineup and doesn't look too impressive apart from bdb, most muscular and side chest. He has some flaws and I have never been a huge fan of him as a person either but thats not any important!Grainy hardcore religious slabs of thick dense muscle. So grainy that it hurts your eyes

I think one of the most important aspects of that pose depends on the muscularity thus why Branch Warren kept winning and judges keep giving that pose to Phil.
It is kind of like rear lat spread, the larger the lats, you win the pose but there are 2 ways of looking at it. Some used to give that pose to Kai because of his width who didn't look that amazing in that pose in my opinion but that was the judging criteria whereas some(or many say) Phil won it because of his detail in his traps, erectors and pop etc.
It kind of comes down to how the judging works for the specific pose.Grainy hardcore religious slabs of thick dense muscle. So grainy that it hurts your eyes

I agree that thighs have gotten better, however, with that massive increase in size, we're losing an overall quality because many attempt to hit that balanced massive-conditioned look, and it fails more than it works.
Glute separation, I completely agree.
I also completely agree that the overall quality isn't impressive.
Phil's physique being awarded Mr.O 7 times in a row reflects the low quality of the sport and the line-ups. If you look closely into it, you can see a considerable amount of robberies, and that makes a statement in and of itself.

I have to say I really enjoyed this Olympia. Even though it was predictable we had a lot of guys stepping it up.
Overall Phil beat Ramy in the poses, and in the conditioning. Phil had 1 weak body part his stomach. But Ramy had 2 weak parts, hams and calves. Ramy also looked a little off, but nothing for him to be dissapointed about. This was Ramys highest Olympia placing and I feel they put Ramy in the middle to entertain the crowd.
Very good placing for Bonac, Roelly, and Nathan.
Bad placing for Rhoden and Dex and I dont see them moving back up next year.
I see Ramy pushing Phil more next year and we will see what happens.
Thank you for being part of the debate, its fun sharing opinions and talking to people on here about bodybuilding.
