Awesome job on the squats man. I would've done the same thing with 365 vs 360 lol.
Sucks about the pec. I hate those nagging injuries that just continue to be a nuisance. It's like my elbow, doesn't bother me 99.9% of the time, but I still have little confidence that it's not going to come back and fukc me when I start benching again lol.
Nice job on the weight gain too. You weigh more than me now
Good luck with the move. We'll be going through that process hopefully within the next year. We outgrew our 2 bedroom condo the minute we decided to have a 2nd baby, let alone twins. We're still trying to get into a little better position financially to buy a bigger house, hopefully shouldn't take too much longer. Most houses around here have basements, plus a garage is one of my requirements, so eventually I'll have a good space to lift at home (not in the living room lol).

Dungeon Gym member #2 checking in. Ceiling are standard height, necessitating 25 lbs plate max diameter when doing OHP but with a summer time temp of about 70 I will take it.
Garage sale it up now man, I gave away a lot of sht I simply did not want to move. Shed yourself of earthly possessions lol.Fierce Five log:

I measured my brother's soon-to-be basement gym (he's moving next month) and it was that deal, only 25 lb plates. But the he's 5'9".
I think I'll have room to press with full size plates no matter what due to the height of my rack and the requirement that I have room to do chin-ups on it. My garage ceiling right now is 8'4" and that is the minimum ceiling height that will work.
We are throwing away a lot of stuff and donating a lot of stuff.
There is absolutely no replacement for a huge SUV. Possibly a large truck with a cap on the bed could do it, but moving this stuff to a storage unit so it's out of the way using a car or a mid size SUV or a minivan would just be a fail with so many back and forth trips with some things maybe not fitting at all no matter what

Thur AM 218.6. Fri AM 220.0. Sat AM 218.4. Sun AM 219.8. Today AM 219.4. Kraken, Size On, 80-81*F.
Deads: 13mm lever, 28mm Euro bar, alternate grip, RPE @9 (maybe lower). Could definitely feel how deadlifts focus stress on the low back but I think it is a normal feeling that is to be expected. My belt isn't the best for support it pushes out of place and I think loses tightness as I get down into position, but I like it more than the others and I've been using it for everything so I'm used to it.
Squats: 5:00 rest, difficult but not terrible and certainly guaranteed. 13mm lever. That's +5 lbs over my heaviest 5x5 on the last Texas Method run. Done after deads, still just 5:00 rest...seems pretty okay
I've been busy with organizing, packing, moving/storing, etc to prep the house for sale which takes a lot of time and energy. This workout was supposed to be done way back on Fri. I'm not going to pretend to get each workout in a specific day of hte week for 4x/week now, I'm just going to enjoy the flexibility of 5/3/1 scheduling and go through the progression of sessions as I have time/energy.
Next cycle numbers, going to try to pull out another cycle of doing SSL, and will do CGBP in place of bench, for which I need to establish a training max

Yesterday AM 217.4. Today AM 219.2. Quake 2 scoops 350mg caffeine, Size On, 78-79*, fan
CGBP: First time as a main lift, just some work to set a reasonable max estimate and TM.
Press: 3" belt (fatigued back from deads/squats two days ago and moving stuff). 5:00 rest, very smooth and strong.
Grip Width: Index fingers on the smooth/knurl transition
New cycle 3 numers with calculated CGBP max (used 225x7 in the calculator for estimated 1RM as without the prior sets there is no doubt I could do that, 90% TM). It even just so happens that today's topset would have been 225, though done fresher

Yeah...I think the same thing when I look at them. But the squat 320x5x5 the other day wasn't too bad actually, and the %/rounding only adds 5 lbs to it this cycle. Same for trap bar deads, was 305 and going to 310...unless I'm having a bad day they won't be too bad. Press or CGBP will be the harder, I reckon.
It is really limiting my time and energy/motivation for the assistance stuff though. I need to get back to doing some good LTE work at least once a week if nothing else.
The next couple cycles, following the above, will be First Set Last, per the recommendation from the last book.Last edited by Farley1324; 08-30-2017 at 07:47 PM.

Squats: 13mm lever, basically RPE10, goal was 8 reps because I did 340x8 on this session last cycle and I hate losing a rep when the lower body only comes out to +5 lbs. So, that was a difficult +5 lbs =reps.
Trap Deads: 13mm lever, 4:00 rest.

Been very tired every day from the packing and cleaning of the house etc, but did get a legit 10+ hours of actual sleep last night which is pretty crazy. Still not feeling like doing any accessories...one more 3x3 day (dead) and then I get a week of 3x5...and then if this keeps up (schedule may get busier) I may jump to First Set Last a week early for 5/3/1 week instead of waiting till the next cycle starts.
I'm disappointed in the 160x7 which is why I did a joker. I did 155x9 I think two cycles ago, but then recently I did 165x6 so I suppose 160x7 is about right and it's not bad so whatever...and the 7th rep wasn't a grind.

Squats, 11 was my goal because on July 25 I did 315x10...so I got +1 rep and it was after pulling 405. Calling that a win.
This journal is kind of dead so maybe this will spice it up eh?

Awesome job on the 345x8 squat. Is it safe to say this is the strongest your squat has ever been?
Why only singles on deadlift 3x3?
My journal is the same way, sometimes I post multiple workouts without a response. My log is boring af though lol. I only have like 2-3 people that comment on a regular basis. It doesn't help that I have gotten lazy about keeping up with other people's logs, but it seems like most of the people that used to comment in my log have disappeared from the forums.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5

Thanks. Nah I've tripled 405 and singled 425 squat before as well as 315x13 and 380x5. Maybe not quite there right now but close if not. Just felt like doing 405 a second time for deads. And I did a triple at 375 on 5/3/1 week I think anyway lol so it balances
Still.burning time and energy on the house stuff.

May seem obviously to most but...
I always have the voice in my head..
"move bench grip out,....lift more!"
"wider sumo Bro, lift more!"
"lower bar position dude...lift more!"
And its taken a while to fix my thinking.. Yeah, I CAN lift more, but the training effect is no different (or maybe lessened due to rom) and that I recover better and get less beat up while still making the gains.
Ive changed a lot of my positioning to less aggressive setups for these reasons.. I always get the best results when I'm not beat up :-D
Erm, I mean good choice on the grip change:-D terrible to see a brother not be able to lift without pain..FMH crew - Couch.
'pick a program from the stickies' = biggest cop out post.

Yeah, when training for "general strength" more weight on the bar isn't necessarily better or even stronger. Maybe as time goes by and I lift more (need to get this house finished up, listed, sold, and move...lol) frequently and it continues to not bother me I'll edge my grip out but not as far as before.
