Exclamation TOO SHORT/SMALL TO BE OFFENSIVE LINE? High School

    Hey yall.
I am 16 years old, and I want to play offensive line for my high school at the Varsity level in Washington State. Currently I am 5'11, 241lbs (25% BMI). My Leg Press is 395x10, my max Squat last year was 315, and my benchpress max is 235x2. I have played offensive and defensive line for my high school in the past, but moving up to my school's varsity level (which is 4a, highest division in the state) is making me look at playing more realistically, and I would really appreciate it if I could get a second opinion on changing positions or not, thanks in advance.

It's up to your coach. If he wants you on the line, you're on the line. If he wants you as a back, you're a back. If he wants you on the bench, you're on the bench. Just go, do whatever you're told and do it good.

5'11" is fine for OL guard and center. You're too small for left tackle, you maybe OK at right tackle. For DL you're size is fine. It's more important that you have the right attitude (aggressive for both OL and DL), a well developed skill set, and are working smart and hard at strength training.

All this and I'd add the ability to react and move more quickly than your opponents while staying low. All day. Plus, the reality is that you'll play where your coach needs you and puts you. None of that depends on your stats.
