I was lucky enough to weasel my way into a tub of Magnum Nutraceuticals Salted Freakin Caramel Protein.
It's a protein that I had heard was not only delicious but macro-friendly, being an isolate. Exactly what I'm looking for on a cut.
Instead of a lengthy review about shakes, I used the protein for cooking in 2 different recipes - keto fat bombs and a low-carb caramel bread. Both turned out amazing. I'll use it for shakes too, but the point here was to find out just how well it would work with cooking.
The Fat Bombs:
4 Tbsp Butter
4 Tbsp Peanut Butter
8 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 scoop Salted Caramel Protein
1 Tsp Truvia sweetener
These turned out great. I've made them several times with other proteins and with just cocoa and sweetener (and no protein powder). These are definitely the best ones I've made. The salted caramel really stands out and surprisingly, the "salted" part is really highlighted more than the "caramel" part in these (which I liked).
Low-carb (salted caramel) bread:
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup ground chia seed
2 1/3 cups almond flour
3/4 cup Salted Freakin Caramel protein
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter
Full recipe here: http://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/201...ana-bread.html (mine is a little modified/shortened and also no frosting).
This is something I'll make all the time. Bread is something I crave all the time on a cut/keto and this is perfectly flavored with a great texture. Thick, but soft. The protein evenly balances the salt and caramel aspects to the point it's almost a dessert bread (I eat it for breakfast). I will likely reserve most of my protein tub for use with cooking this because I enjoy it so much.
Thanks for the Magnum guys for providing the opportunity to use this. Greatly appreciated.
