I first played one on a saturday when my high school soccer team had to go across state for a game. We had a ball boy that was int he 2nd grade and he brought it. We made our coach stop and let us buy more batteries
So that is what they are called. i wouldnt mind getting proficient at them
i remember them but i dont think a lot of kids had them in my area“That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.” - The Nameless City by HP Lovecraft

I miss getting up in the morning on a weekend, hopping on the bike and rounding up whoever was up/not grounded to go fuk around in the neighborhood. Never knew wtf you were going to end up doing, but it was always a great time. Perhaps street hocket, or vandalizing some tools stuff, running away from adults who spot you doing shady things, whatever.
Nowadays all the kids I see arrange everything on phones and walk around the mall like zombies or cach ****gy pokeman.

Was in the 90s for a prime of my childhood Ages 5-15...
Manhunt. Every neighborhood kid would meet up and we would all dress in camo and play. Every yard in the neighborhood was fair game for hiding. I never see this chit anymore. During the early teen years it was mainly an excuse to make out with girls while hiding.
Bikes. It be my nostalgia kicking in but I feel like riding BMX bikes was way bigger with GTs, Mongooses, Dynos. Everyone would show off their bikes.
The 90's clothes and styles. Everyone had a mushroom cut and baggy jeans. Whether they were super big JNCOs or Southpole or something. I have a feeling eventually it will come full circle again like everything else. I remember making fun of kids with tight jeans.
Blockbuster and video stores in general. I miss going on a Friday night while having friends sleep over and getting movies and a video game..
