    Questions about water.

First of all Merry Christmas for everyone! Have a good time with your families and friends on the holidays! Second, I'm curious about a thing. I heard from a lot of people "Don't drink water (or other liquids) during or right after a meal (wait 1 hour) because it will diluate the gastric acid and screw up the digestion". On the other hand i see a lot of people, (especially those involved in bodybuilding) drinking during meals or right after, and they are saying the opposite thing: "It helps your muscles to absorb the macronutrients, and there's a higher chance to fill the muscles and not the fat cells in a caloric surplus ". I know it sounds like a stupid question, but what do you guys think about this? What is the truth?

Drinking water will not dilute gastric acid to an appreciable degree. Not something to be concerned about.

Drinking water will not help your muscles absorb nutrients either.

Simply drink when you are thirsty and you will likely be fine unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

^ With drinking water during meals, I'd think it's to fill you up better as you eat mainly. At Least for me. I drink water with my meals to feel a bit more full, and hydration's pretty important. You do you. I think drinking water with meals is pretty helpful if you're tryna watch yourself.
Hilariously bad noob just trying to find his way, have mercy.

If that were the case ok, you wouldn't want to eat salads, fruits and veggies since they are mostly water. Or other foods that are mostly water. Does that make sense to you?

Yea I guess it's sounds logical. But what about diet soda or some things like that? Can aspartame or other artificial sweeteners interrect bad with the nutrients from the food?
