I don't care if clemson did squeak by louisville(6 point margin), auburn (6 point margin), and fsu (3 point margin). skeptical hippo is watching. would not be remotely surprised if syracuse upsets clemson saturday, but for now they stay i guess.
also the ranking through 8 virtually don't matter at all now, especiall B1G fanbases. it's really going to come down to the B1G championship to decide who goes, and as I like to tell people michigan been wrecking every team they face except wisconsin. a rematch in the b1g championship to decide who goes to the playoffs will be absolutely gold.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

Maybe I'm missing some context here--but the last I checked, mistakes like turning the ball over (a lot, in the red zone) are still leveraged when measuring how good a team is overall. Sure, being able to overcome those adversities are important too; but, the errors shouldn't be discounted. If not mitigated, mistakes like those will eventually cost a game.

I understand 1 or 2 turnovers tops. If we don't turn the ball over 4 times against NC ST, we win by 21 and cover the spread. If we don't turn the ball over 5 times against UL, we win by 4 TD's. We would be putting up the same #'s as Michigan, except, it's against decent opponents.

unless you predicted going 2-2, and the firing of Les Miles as well no one is really trying to hear this.
i think what everyone is getting at, is that you're using conditional statements to speculate what clemson could do. but are currently not doing.
for example, a viqueen fan in another thread said if it wasn't for our o-line we would be a superbowl contender. but you're not a superbowl contender.
so the opposing fanbases saying yes maybe you would be beating teams by michigan margins if you weren't turning the ball over. but you are.
all that said. clemson did go to the natty champs last year and played bama hard so no one in here is saying Clemson is horrible, just perhaps maybe your argument for why they aren't, is.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

I guess my point is lost on you--great teams, championship teams--do not consistently turn the ball over that many times, period.
If they do not get it addressed, eventually they'll find themselves in a situation that will result in a loss.
And arguing that a team should be putting up numbers similar to a team like Michigan except for [something they are doing badly] simply makes the case for them to be labeled a team among teams.
Any other program not doing what Michigan is doing can make that same claim--regardless of 8-0 or 0-8.ʙ ᴜ ᴄ ᴋ ᴇ ʏ ᴇ ✭ ɴ ᴀ ᴛ ɪ ᴏ ɴ

quality win over Prairie View A&M. good call CFP.
they're just doing this to get people talking. all hype.
If Washington wins out and are undefeated conference champs, the committee is taking that over a 1 loss sec team who arent conference champs.
besides, its just the 1st rankings of the season. this will change weekly....at least the #4 spot will
