It was all such a mess (health, financial, interpersonal, etc.) I just had to hit delete and started over. Its now a seemingly unending struggle but at least I'm on the right track -- working for me and not somebody else. I know a change is gonna come, it just won't be tomorrow.

The world wants what's not real.
They will tell you that you can have it all, right now.
Good, fast, cheap. Pick 2.

Gotta keep diggin. Got this response today on a screenplay submission to a director:
"Thank you for the submission. I do like this material and think it has potential. While this looks intriguing and funny, it’s not what we are currently looking for. Our next production is slated for a traditional rom-comedy (not negotiable). However, and again, I do like this story. I’m going to keep your email to revisit in the Spring when we will begin looking again.
If I wasn’t so wrapped up with pre-production on 2 other projects and looking for a rom-com, I’d genuinely ask to read the script. That’s how much I like the synopsis. But I’d not be able to get to read it for many weeks. So… I’ll touch base later in the year and if someone hasn’t optioned it, (which I’m sure someone will), I’ll ask for a read."

If I could go back in time when I was a puny rebelling teen I would say to myself: Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath.
Then I would slap myself to remember it.

happy for you. Still not over someone from the past. Been a year now and no one has contacted the other.
What about career. Did you go into something you love, or did you settle for what was going to fetch you the most money? I've narrowed my career choices down to two right now.
My main thing is to have a career where I can dress professionally everyday (suit and tie) and have a high realistic chance of making 6figs. I'll also like a degree beyond a bachelor', at least a masters degree.
Finally, marriage and family. I'm sh***t scared of divorce and child support so I'm thinking to postpone that stuff til like 40ish at which point most sloots tend to be more ready to be serious, settle, and have kids. Not to mention they'll have their lives and careers figured out.
You think putting those things on hold is a good idea, or is it setting myself up for "bread crumbs" that no one else wants?

I screwed up on career. 16-24 party party party, 25-35 just married, to many things to count, 35 back to school, 37 grad with AAS in AutoCad, 37-47 Big money as estimator and CAD drafter, 2010 everybody got laid off, now I am finally chasing the writing dream which my wife has been saying for 15 years, that's what I needed to be doing. She's the best.
Find someone you love and trust. Too many guys want a hot chick that will do all kinds of nasty stuff and then they get mad when the chick dumps them for a new thrill. What do you expect asshat? Marry a girl that acts like a pornstar and she is going to act like a pornstar. Dont look for women in clubs.
An introduction from a mutal female friend is EXCELLENT, but guys think there is no value to female platonic friendships. Set your goals, then be willing to do whatever you need to do to get there.
Sleep in your car.
Eat peanut butter for a week straight.
Go without TV, movies or internet.

Good advice. And yes to all of the above. Too bad you weren't around when I was a younger. Oh wait, you were...as a kid.
I couldn't give mine up, but fate gave me snake eyes and did it for me.
As things worked out, it gave me a chance to reassess what was important in my life and I achieved things (my dream) I had all but given up on. I'm still not where I want to be, but at least now I have the credential to be in the running.🎥

Continued good luck to you.
Agreed about LA. I've never had to live there, but it has been a really fun place to visit over the years. I love the movie culture there, as well as the food and the other various things to do. Might be visiting again in the next couple months around Halloween.OLD MOVIE CREW
