I think being a teacher is one of the most respectable career paths a person could pursue.
I only read thread titles and my own posts.

Yearly salary of high school teachers in here is low as well than the average jobs.
My teachers in high school all earned 15,541$ a year.
And the cost of living in Tel Aviv is much higher than in Ohio or w/e areas you stated in this thread.*Go to the bathroom, flex in mirror and forget to pee crew*
*Shave one of my legs and pretend it's a girl in my bed crew*
*T-mobile worker laughed at me because only had one number for 5-friends/family list plan crew*

I don't know about the US but in Canada you can upgrade your salary by taking more schooling and just automatically get paid more for doing the same job. Makes little sense to me but that's the way it is. My mother upgraded twice, took two masters degrees, and shes at the max pay. Making like $80k/year for 30 hour weeks and 3 months off/year. Your pension is a percentage of your salary so the more you make the more pension you get as well.
Combine that with the benefits and the pension and its not too shabby at all. Blows my mind how most teachers never upgrade. IMO you cannot complain about your salary being low if you have the option to go to school during your insanely long vacation period and then automatically get paid more for earning a slip of paper. How many jobs are there where that is possible?
