    RN to PT

    Hey everyone,
I have been a RN for 3 years and have my bachelors in nursing. I have ALWAYS had a passion for health and fitness but I had MANY YEARS of struggling. It wasn't until last year where I got HUGE into eating clean and weight training. I have been doing online coaching and making an extra income and I have been considering removing myself from nursing because I don't feel like I am helping people as much as I would like. By being a health and wellness coach I am able to have 1:1 with my clients and build relationships and I know I can grow my business. I don't like working for someone else and working underneath a doctor. Im not about pushing pills and telling people they need surgery. I want to promote healthier lifestyle and I have been considering becoming a personal training.

Can Registered nurses exempt from part of a personal training exam? Theres a lot of anatomy and physiology that ive already done.

You won't be exempt from anything but your background should give you an edge over the competition.

You will still have to get certified through one of the PT agencies. Go for your NASM, ACE or ACSM certification (any of the three are good) and you should be all set.

If you plan on training clients on your own, you will need to purchase liability insurance as well.

If you don't mind me asking, where have you been coaching clients online? Do you mean online personal training?
