Actually kinda pissed now that I got the Galaxy S6 Edge+ over the Note 5. There's literally no development for this phone and the XDA forums for it are empty as hell. I don't really do all of that flashing stuff anymore but it would at least be nice to be able to root it so that I can put a good ad block app on it. Kinda surprised the development for it has been so small.

It's pretty locked down because of the Exynos, the best they can do is a custom Touch Wiz rom, which is fine since I love TW this time around. I'm still stock on my phone surprisingly. We'll see what Marshmallow brings.

Sprint. There's a nice looking one for the Sprint Note 5. Really the only thing I would want right now is root. I'll eventually do it but I'm pretty damn happy with stock.

I would be hesitant to flash custom rom if I have the Note 5 since I would prefer not losing Samsung Pay.
I think there are root methods now that wont trip the knox counter so if you find it, that should not change anything.

I am big on surprises and she has no idea hopefully. She knows it's a nice gift and she guessed an electronic a couple of weeks ago, so I put it in a gigantic box. I've been giving her vague clues in an attempt to make her think it's a Kitchen Aid mixer (she's been wanting one). When she said she knew what it was last night after she saw the box I led on like I was all bummed b/c I gave her too many clues. Also, I've been working on her old laptop lately trying to freshen it up. And the final trick that should ensure a surprise I put an S5 motherboard in a plastic, sealed Fed Ex bag and labeled it 'Dell 1525 RAM 8 gb'. I'm going to tell her it's memory and she will never expect a laptop a few gifts later. She doesn't know the difference between an S5 motherboard and ram.

Yeah the new chips are kind of annoying. It would be nice to avoid that. Again, not a deal breaker if I can get some more performance out of my phone rather than saving a few seconds at the store, but I'm still holding off to see if my bank will eventually support it.

yupp, lol I did something similar but placed like an older android phone inside a galaxy s6 case, then afterwards hand over the s6 haha

Bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. As I was checking out with it, she walks by and asks what I was doing. I told her to leave. So no surprise with that.

Gave my youngest son a Dell 2 in 1 tablet (Windows) that I hardly ever used a few days ago. He hasn't put it down. Watches videos on it all day long. lol

With the LG Nexus 5X being $50 off until the end of December, I purchased a carbon one from Best Buy's website last night. With free shipping, it will arrive at a local store on 1/6/15. Currently using an LG Nexus 5 on T-Mobile's unlimited data plan (67 dollars a month for unlimited LTE).

Bruhs hold me. Dropped my Note 5 on Christmas, in the case flat on the back. No outer damage. But now the phone is dead, literally. The blue light has stayed on this hole time. No hard resets or anything works. It's done. I went to T-Mobile and played it off that it died, and they want to ship it in for a warranty replacement. Did I dun goof? The phone is literally immaculate on the outside.

If so most likely just the LCD was damaged.

No it's done. The blue LED has been on for a few days now. Nothing happens. It's a brick right now.

It fell on the back of the phone, flat on the case.

Did you give the screen a thorough looking over? LCD's crack under the glass and you can't see it w/o really inspecting it from different angles. I have employees bringing in S4's all the time that the LCD is broken, but the glass is not. You have to move the device around in the light and try to see the cracks.

I can't imagine the LCD broke from a flat landing with a case.
