I have a sick idea for a space battle in this game that the developer should make
One team are the Rebels, the other is the Empire (obviously)
The rebels have to try to blow up the Death Star by flying into the trench and firing a proton tor**** into the hole, while the Empire has to prevent that from happening

The more I read the more I am thinking I need to pick this up. Not a star wars fan, but enjoy battlefield style FPS games. I only have FO4 for PS4 and need a multiplayer game at some point. Sucks the DLC season pass is basically the same price as the game though.

Good to hear, I am not interested in the CoD style game. Are the people playing generally mature? All FPS have their 12 year olds, but battlefield seemed to have less than your average FPS. Hoping that is also true for this game...although playing on PS4 compared to a PC probably hurts my cause.

Is it possible to party up more than 8 people to hop into a game? Our chat is always full and we keep having to leave people out. The talking part isn't an issue but the 11 or so of me and my friends want to play in the same party but can't figure it out. The other 3 guys not able to get into the chat are usually relegated to being on the other team.

Battlefield 4 is a far and beyond better game than Battlefront - there's so much more depth/strategy/teamplay which sounds like what you're looking for.
In Battlefield you can hose someone with a minigun from a helicopter, jump out last second before an RPG hits and skydive, pull the parachute and use an RPG to blow a hole into the wall of a 3rd story building, parachute in and surprise/kill everyone inside. Or just knock down the entire building. If they're on a skyscraper, you can storm the top in a coordinated elevator attack or a multiple helicopter hot drop. You can talk to your entire squad, give orders, and know you have back up.
In Battlefront, you can do... none of this. You have a gun, and a grenade. All the guns feel the same. No tactical destruction. There's no teamplay, it's just 20 people per team running around randomly. You're locked into vehicles, there's no bailing out.
Does this mean it's a bad game? No, it is fun at times, but it's mindless fun. The graphics blow away any game out today. However, Battlefield is a completely different game that rewards tactical thought/movement and players utilizing the massive amount of freedom they're given. I think PCGamer summed it up the best(72/100 rating)
"The Star Wars buzz wears off and you realise that you’re playing a completely rote, by-the-numbers multiplayer FPS. You’re on Tatooine, and there’s a sandcrawler over there, but you’re still just sprinting in circles, killing, dying, killing, dying. Earn XP, unlock a better gun, kill, die, kill, die."keep rep trading out of your sig line

I'm starting to get burnt out and pissed off with this game, and I'm a few points away from level 15. Like others have said, it seems like the star wars feel wears off after an hour or two when you realize it's just like any other fps. Other than that, I've consistently placed top 3 out of all fps games I've played, All of the halos I was "pro" in #1 and #2, destiny, CS, battlefields, etc. With this game my score is all over the fuking place from top 3 to bottom 3. I do know I'd need to memorize the maps, corners, killing funnels, etc. but I'm already kind of sick of it. I feel like they've took out strategic play and "skill" out of this game. From what I've seen from watching on twitch, etc. is people playing in 3rd person, put circle on enemy and strafe and shoot. What in the flying fuk? No rewards for precision in this game AT ALL. With halo #1, 3 shot pistol with headshots, one shot with sniper headshot, etc. Yes, you strafed and shot, but it was consistent. With this game running around in 3rd person, I feel like my shots are all based off of luck and not precision. I'll be running, see someone across the map, start shooting and even though I'm using a long range gun and still not fuking hitting him, he'll turn around and 1-2 shot me with a fuking blaster. Other games, my shots make the mark consistently. I don't know brahs. i'll have to read into hit boxes, leading, etc. with this game because I feel like this fuking game plays like PC halo 1 with 350 ping (you had to lead, and how much you had to lead was based off ping, it was a kunt for those unaware.)

Just got this with my new laptop which is a beast.
Played for an hour so far.
Initial thoughts -
Graphics - 9.5/10 - I run everything on ultra and the game looks crisp, fluid, vibrant and the maps are beautiful.
Gameplay - 8/10 - Runs essentially like battlefield ...duh it uses the battlefield engine as far as I'm aware. Good thing is though, is that it's so easy to pick up. I played 4 games at an average KDR of 1.78 - Might be that I'm good at fps though as I've been playing them for over 10 years.
Menu - Really cool menu. Smooth, concise and fresh. It's a flashy game and looks fresh.
It's definitely worth £34.99 or the $55-60 for the PC, especially if your pc is high end.
I'm sure I'll come across some negatives when I'm further into the game but right now it's something clean and fresh from the COD's franchise. Although I do have Black Ops 3 as well.

It's funny how people forget video games were never cheap. Take into account inflation. The average N64 game today would be $100. No online. No updates. No patches for glitches or bugs. No mods. And most importantly no playing with your friends online. If you guys really want to point the finger at a company for starting the "expansion" bs it's not EA or Ubisoft. It's Nintendo. Nintendo started all of this expansion nonsense we have today with a small thing called the expansion pack. Without the expansion pack you weren't able to fully play their later released AAA games. And no it wasn't created later on because games just became so demanding on the hardware. The fukin console came with an empty expansion pack bay from day 1. So there you go. Blame Nintendo for all the DLC bs we have to deal with today.

I'm so totally on the fence with this... I am a life long SW fanatic, and really enjoyed the original Battlefronts, but the reviews for this are so wishy washy... I played the beta and was not all that impressed by it... It's $80 Canadian on Origin, and I don't know if I can justify spending that for a game with mediocre reviews(even as a SW fanatic).
