Okay ive been counting my macros on and off ever since ive started training.( tend to get lazy sometimes )
The way i count mine is read off the back of packaging labels P/F/C etc
and then i use WORDPAD on my PC and write everything down that i ate that day... ( it tends to take me 20mins )
I want to know how YOU count your macros surely there's a better way then how i count mine lol.
Thanks guys.

Use an app like MyFitnessPal , Cron-O-Meter , MyMacros+ , Fitocracy. If you don't have a smartphone or tablet then make an excel sheet with your food items so that you can select from a drop down menu an add items quickly.

I use My Fitness Pal.
All you do is use the camera on your phone to scan the barcode and it scans it's database for your item. Alternatively you can search. It's 99% accurate, so I make sure I check the macro details against that of the packaging still, but it's wonderful to have it all in an app, that allows you to plan ahead for the day.

I've yet to find a way you can get it to work off of macro minimums as opposed to percentages. I believe its main target audience is dieters who buy in to the whole 40/40/20 diet splits.
All I do is set my calorie goal and adjust the percentages so they're close enough to my personal goals (minimum fat and protein). Then just make sure I check the nutrition view to ensure I'm on course to hit my calories, minimum fat/protein and micronutrient content goals - throughout the day

You can reverse the math percentages near your macros or use MacronutrientCalculator to get percentages off your desires numbers. Or even easier use the chrome add on Foodfastfit. If you decide to use the chrome add on watch the video on how to use it. Since you're new to MFP i recommended watching the guide videos below.
MyFitnesspal starter guide( If you want to learn how to calculate bulk recipes per gram, enters foods you often eat in grams rather than calculate serving size, quick add macros.)
