I recently bought a bucket of "Strive" whey protein ISO...
This will be my first time using whey supplement, and I'm wondering how I can measure x number of grams with a tablespoon.
I read somewhere that 2 tablespoons of whey is = to 10 grams of whey.
Is this accurate?

a tablespoon isnt always 15g either people.... get this through your head. different powders have different densities. for example a tablespoon of creatine may be about 15grams but a tablespoon of BCAA may only be 6g
the 5g/15g values you see on your spoon apply to water, and most liquids. but oil for instance is only 14g per tablespoon because it is less dense.
just get a scale!!
OP didnt the protein tub come with a scoop?Maybe it's hatred I spew, maybe it's food for the spirit

a 70cc scoop usually yields 30 grams of protein powder. 70cc = 70ml = 4.66 or 4 and 2/3 of a tablespoon will yield approx 30g of protein powder, and depending on if its iso or concentrate or whatever that may yield 24-28g protein
dont listen to what anyone else said lolMaybe it's hatred I spew, maybe it's food for the spirit

also, when I'm scooping the powder with my spoon, do I fill up the spoon to make a flat surface? or should there be like a little hill?Last edited by kidkurious; 05-11-2007 at 06:56 PM.

Hold on a minute! Lets not mix up mass & volume . . .
Say want 2 know how many grams of protein in 4 tbsp of protein powder.
Well, it's a 2-step conversion process. Tablespoons r a volume measure, which relates 2 typical protein powder serving sizes, which are in cc, as follows:
1 cc = 0.0676280451 US tablespoons
so 4 tablespoons = 4/.06763 = 59.1 cc
Now look at ur protein powder label & see how many grams protein r in what serving size (cc's) & convert.
Say it's 25g protein in 70 cc, like my ON whey, then u finish off the calculation as follows:
4 tbsp ON whey = 59.1*25/70 = 21.1g proteinBest Regards,
Ed
