First time competing at 198. Overshot the water cut a little, weighed in at 195. Not to bad. Had all of the necessities to hydrate, and replenish glycogen properly. Unfortunately for me the venue had no a/c, heat index way up, and around 90 degrees outside the entire day. Before squats started I had changed shirts 3 times. Srs. So needless to say my goal of getting/staying around 215 did not happen once the day started Saturday.
So instead of bitching I am fortunate to not have bombed out, which I was so very close to doing. Got a 755 squat, which ranked me #4 of all time, and #2 nationally. Right on the mark, ugly AF squat, and not very proud of it. I was hoping for 1900 total this day, but it wasnt in store. Next meet in November in air conditioned room, should be much better! 755 squat, 400 bench, 700 deadlift. Not to bad for my first time at 198 class. 9.4x over bw, 540.0 on Wilks, and 3.7x bw raw squat.

Wow... thats impressive.
Been lifting for 3 years of so and doing first meet on Saturday just deadlift. I don't want to hijack tread but want to know what programs you follow leading up to meet and have done in the past. Going to start new program and next meet will be full so looking for some insight. Totals 1250-1300 if that matters
