No, not everyone with tattoos is the same, but saying that the whole article is bs just cause it wont fit your criteria, thats actual bs.
I also know guys and girl who have tattoos and got them when they were living a ****ty situation or were just trying to be "rad". There is a difference on doing something when you are in a stable state of mind or doing it while having depression.
What about the girls and guys who get tattoos to "close cicles" or just to attention whore following a media fad?

Agree with most of the OP.
There are exceptions though...
Glad I wanted tattoos in high school but was over it by the time I was 18. Had a couple of piercings but you'd never know now... think it's more acceptable for men to have a lot of tattoos. I know a lot of girls with tattoos who are insane or unstable.
EDIT:
lol at people using celebrities (joe rogan above) to refute this article... I feel like they don't count. And if you listen to the jre you would know that Joe could fit a few of these descriptions in the OP.
He also didn't get those tats until he was what, 40something?

Fine just for you I'll actually contribute.
I'll agree here. From growing up skating and getting older all the people I knew who were real into skating all got into drugs and became worthless. Of course a few here and there slipped through and made it (myself and my group of friends mainly).
I have also seen LOTS of people get tattoos after joining the military. Of the four bases ive been on so far there has been a tattoo parlor right outside the main gates of the base. Every week at work I see someone popping up with new ink. Some of them are the worst tattoos i've ever seen. One guy even got Thor's hammer on his penis. (serious)
However when I got both of my tattoos I was not in a depressed state or anything. I wanted to get the ink. I wanted to have something on my body that means something to me and a few of my peers. I will mention that placement of the tattoo is a huge decision for people. I have mine on places I can cover easily. Since I am an office worker I don't see my self ever being outside of a suit or a shirt.
Would you say that not all people who have ink are mentally deranged? I would say 60-70% have some form of issues. I may be shooting that number a little low.I am here from the future, it's been 45 years. I tipped my professor and it developed towards groundbreaking research where we discovered the secret of time travel. I recovered my old account to recount the history of the golden age of memes and talk to you about progressing the human race.

It's a kneejerk reaction. Since I'm lazy, I'm just going to quote myself from that other tattoo thread about women you posted in response to another guy, who I will be repping on recharge:
I am and was aware of the negative connotations associated with tattoos, but being able to cover it up, being introverted, and being very selective when it comes to my social circle makes the impact of having a tattoo negligible.

A lot of people have issues, some get on dat dere self improvement, so things get better and we dont get stuck on the same ****ty cicle but sadly, most dont.
And in these cases, the traits you should be aware of, arent as easy to spot as tattoos. Though, sometimes is good to give the benefit of the doubt, but given, 90% of times, the stereotype wont be wrong.
Glad things are working out for you brah. There are exceptions, maybe you are telling us the truth and you are "healthy" but tbh, there is the posibility that you might be ignoring something. Even if its just a shade of low self steem that could lead to depression.“If you can walk with the crowd and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch; If all men count with you, but none too much; then you'll be a man, my son.”

If I remember right you said you were going to the Air Force? Don't worry, you won't need tattoos to be promiscuous, it will just happen.
What you are saying about Rogan makes no sense. If you listen to his podcast you could easily see that his state of mind is much more peaceful and mature than any retard on the misc. With that said, he was in a very clear headed place when he got his tats. Why would it matter how old he is? Also, why does using celebrities not count? Obviously people are using celebrities as an easy and quick way to give an example, a person that everyone is familiar with.Trump 2020

Oddly, I have very little experience with tattooed individuals, so I guess my own perception is based off of myself. They generally seem to be either eccentric and artistic or "uneducated" and just got a dumb tattoo that they try to justify i.e. names, lyrics, symbols. I think if someone puts a good deal of thought into what they're doing and spend a reasonable amount of time finding the right artist who understands what is desired, then a tattoo should not be looked down upon.
Eh, to my knowledge, I am being honest. However, I will acknowledge that the majority of people have a thing or two that bothers them that could lead to depression. It's a common accusation that all "bodybuilders" have some sort of self esteem issue.

Yeah, and that one is also true. doesnt necesarily need to fit you, but can fit practically 99% of people at the gym. Dont need to get defensive about it.
Brb "you lifting that? lol you weak *******"
brb "I lift more than you"
brb "I used to lift 2 plates but then got injured"
I could say that I bodybuild, and can confirm you that this happens on the daily. My mind gets blown when some guy tells me things like "I have a lot of haters here", when I dont think that anybody gives a fuk about hating someone else. But oh well, happens brah.“If you can walk with the crowd and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch; If all men count with you, but none too much; then you'll be a man, my son.”

Depressed people do lots of things. I would guess that the majority of them never get a tattoo. What you are trying to suggest is that people more often get tattoos because of mental illness, and I'm saying that is complete nonsense. This article is horse**** because it is an article that WANTS something to be true.
It suggest that there are. You are a fuking moron. Ancient Aliens on History channel suggest that Aliens built the Pyramids.Trump 2020

So much real life. These people either quit lifting or stick around long enough to realize how stupid they used to act/think. Weightlifting wisdom, as it were.
You're a reasonable fellow. I have no quarrel with you and accept the evidence you provided as valid support for your argument/position,.

Necessity to be right, check
Trying to show how everyone else is wrong while providing no sources nor evidence, check
You got your tattoos as a way to show the world how special you are?
Its funny how you are tying to prove wrong, single handlely, a riviewed article backed up by studies.
Again, why so defensive brah? Its like this struck an emotional nerve on you...“If you can walk with the crowd and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch; If all men count with you, but none too much; then you'll be a man, my son.”

cool studies srs. bottom line is, Unless you are really uptight and a control freak, tats dont really matter that much. it's just a tat. The reason whores and dirtbags gravitate towards the tatted look is because is a common way to tell society "hey fuk u, im a rebel!!"
That's not the case these days and many people use tats as a means of expressing a belief, honoring loved ones, or just as an artistic medium.
The issue most people are having with the studies is that words like "tendancies" and "associations" makes the latter feel grouped with the scum....imnoting
