THEY'RE TAKING IT BY FORCE. So it's ok for me to come over to your house, steal all your belongings, sell them, and give you some back? Does that suddenly not make it theft? Ever heard of capitalism? When there's demand, someone will be there to supply it.
You might as well be sitting in a jail cell for 24 years. You'd have pretty much the same results after those 24 years. Lol, so because it's better than 50% of the world that's ok? ^ Average American mindset, which will eventually lead us to our demise. Soon taxes will be 90%+, you can't stop government greed. They'll only want more and it's this exact mindset that will allow it.

I'm no fan of taxes, but I'm happy paying as long as it is being spent frugally. Also, it doesn't seem like you know very much about Estate Taxes. For people dying in the year 2015, the first $5,430,000 of transferred assets is exempt from Estate Taxes. Nobody working a 9-5 job is going to have close to that much.

Is OP Russel Brand?
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

You bag on taxes in the US, but why do you think healthcare over there is so much cheaper than other countries? all the taxes are what pays for you to go to the hospital. If we didn't have to pay tax, we would have to use health insurance and pay 1000s of dollars every time we had to go to the hospital, Idk about you but that doesn't sound like a place I'd wanna live.

Entitled socialists would riot.
American healthcare is generally covered by insurance. Responsible people pay for insurance, you're basically complaining about something that only happens to irresponsible people.
And for the sake of consistency, I trust that you would be in favour of nationalising all supermarkets and paying for our food in taxes? Surely it would be a better system to remove all free-market competition and have one state supplier of grocieries free at the point of use? It's free so it must be better right? I mean, clearly choice doesn't matter to you, clearly consumer freedom doesn't matter, and clearly you believe that other people have a duty to pay for your needs, so you'd support that right? Or are you just another socialist who hasn't actually got the slightest clue about economics?

[QUOTE=Cesarbruh;1315882131]THEY'RE TAKING IT BY FORCE. So it's ok for me to come over to your house, steal all your belongings, sell them, and give you some back? Does that suddenly not make it theft? Ever heard of capitalism? When there's demand, someone will be there to supply it.
They are not taking it by force, you are not being robbed by armed men at gun point, stop being a drama queen.
Clearly you don't understand how modern society works; the government provides you with an education while you grow up, modern infrastructure a police force and a military to keep you safe, in return you pay a certain amount of your income back to the state for these services. In other words; you give some and you get some. Would you rather return to some primitive system where there is no government and complete anarchy?
Also, capitalism is in no way, in neither theory nor practice, based on the idea of zero taxes. In fact, having a strong government to write and uphold laws, protect the nation, punish criminals and ensure that the system is free from corruption is essential to the functioning of a capitalist society and a free market. Those services cost money and are funded by taxes.

Meanwhile back to reality; America is the richest and most powerful country in human existence.
Your anarchy utopia world is only going to produce terror and mayhem, poverty, failure, decay and then eventual rule by the biggest meanest, most oppressive, most thieving, most totalitarian warlord around of that nightmarish world.
grow up

I don't think people would have a problem paying taxes if they knew it was actually being used morally and frugally....as opposed to bailing banks and the car industry, welfare for a bunch of freeloaders (though of course some people really do need genuine help), and giving it to ****hole middle eastern countries that hate our guts...

Yes, people born with horrible illnesses or who get cancer are just irresponsible. When has anyone said anything about nationalising everything? You seem to beleive that only the extreme opposites are possible in a society, either everything is state run and you go full North Korea mode, or you have laissez-faire capitalism. Most sane and civilized people have realized a long time ago that both of these extremes do not work, like history has shown us, and that the answer, like with most things in life, is somewhere in the middle with a balanced system.
Also, lol at calling socialists and poor people entitled. You expect to get schooling for 18 years, modern infrastructure, police and military without paying taxes for it? Clearly you are the entitles one who believes he should be getting a bunch of stuff without paying anything back for it. that is, of course, unless you want to abolish all those things?

Yeah, that late 18th century technological revolution caused such massive unemployment! All those mill workers displaced by machinery...no one even works in textiles anymore!
Must be embarrassing knowing (or not) your beliefs were debunked in a 1776 book called "An Inquiry into .." and yet you still cling to them. You're the EXACT same intellectually as the people who believe the earth was created 6000 years ago. Zero difference.
