Doggie: hate to say this, but the younger uns' out there push this on people a lot....are you SURE you have "EARLY GINGIVITIS"?
Late Bloom already explained ultrasonics which have been out forever....no matter WHAT kind of natural immunity you have, not going to a dentist in 27 years is deplorable, healthwise, really.....I am very surprised at you, Karl!

No, I'm not a dentist, lol. When they tell me something I have to take their word for it.
I don't have the fear of dentists that many have, but i do think many are like vets and mechanics....just take advantage.
I had another scraping in 2007. According to them, I form plaque and tartar more easily than the average person? I'm supposed to go for the regular cleanings every 3 months vs the every six that insurance will cover. So I don't, lol. My lower gums do recede a little bit so maybe I have it. I don't know.
They also said I need a root canal under a molar crown; that it looks as though the infection has been there for a while "doesn't it HURT?" He asked. "Nope. Not at all." Apparently I need to be sent to a specialist for that and I should know by the time I go to be scraped if they got approval from insurance.Sheriff John Brown always hated me

Are you accepting new patients?
I just want to keep my teeth, and keep them pretty. . I'm at their mercy, just like the vet and the mechanic.
I spent the first half of my 20s without insurance and avoiding dentists because I didn't wanna pay. By my 30s some of my friends already started losing teeth. That scared me so I've been pretty regular since then.Sheriff John Brown always hated me

Before I moved to the north pole I had my dentistry done at a dental school. It took longer to get stuff done, but was always done well. Because of my fairly silly pain tolerance they would always ask if I would mind having a person that had never done shots or some procedure work on me. It was usually kinda funny. Needles be goin all over the place.

Believe me John, I KNOW you are right...lol. I have long been of the (perhaps false) opinion that if my teeth don't hurt, there is no tarter, apparent cavities, or receding gums, that everything is OK. To my untrained eye, my teeth seem 100% solid. But I also recognize that my eye IS untrained and that a dentist may be able to discover a whole host of horrors that I don't see. I just gotta make an appointment and get it over with.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
