I know that feel but I learned years ago (after a hard drive crash) that you need to have a backup of anything you dont want to lose. I have things on flash drives, external drives, and cloud storage. I have 10 years worth of priceless photos on Google drive. Ill even email myself an important document as soon as im done with it just so I have a safe copy.
