My plan for the beginning of this log
OK Guys so I don't want to jump to any conclusions about these products, so my first few weeks of posts are going to be about the product ingredients and My training protocol, feel, and performance in the gym.

Mixability!
So to start off today I wanted to show you guys the mixability. Most products will shake up pretty well, but I know a lot of people hate the foam at the top of the shaker! I mixed volatile in a shaker bottle (without a blender ball) and I mixed the BCAA's in a good 'ol Aquafina water bottle.
The pre-workout mixed perfectly, with a little foam at the top (picture attached)
The BCAA's mixed pretty well, but required a little extra shaking to get the little pieces of residual foam (picture attached)
Neither of which were worth complaining about, so I suppose i'd say they pass my mixability standards.Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

Taste test?
So I have tried each of these a few different ways now and figured I had a good enough sense of the taste to post my unbiased thoughts.
I figure the two most common ways to take Pre-Workout or BCAA'S is mixed in water or straight to the dome piece chased by some water.
Therefore, those are the two ways i'm going to give my thoughts on.
To start, Volatile pre-workout:
Mixed in water: This is ok mixed in water, the flavor isn't bad, but it's a little dillute. However, I don't really take pre-workout for the taste (besides C4), so I wouldn't complain.
Straight to the dome, dry powder: I LOVE THIS! Filling the scoop about 1/2 way and tossing back the powder twice is like eating a pixi stick! I love the taste, and this is how I will be taking the pre-workout from here on out!
The BCAA endurance:
Mixed in water: Not super fond of this, it doesn't have much of a flavor, but it has a funky after taste. Mix in a little crystal light, or MiO and you're good to go though.
Straight to the dome, dry powder: Not bad, kinda chalky, and still not a ton of flavor. I prefer to mix it with water and sip it throughout the workout.
THE CONSENSUS: So neither is awful, it's sorta backwards because typically I drink BCAA'S for the taste, and Pre-Workout for the stims. However, with these products the taste of pre-workout is better than the BCAA'S. Mix in a little Crystal Light or MiO and these are good to go. However, aside from the dry volatile neither is too outstanding, but neither is too awful.
I attached some pictures of each of the powders so you could get an idea of the scoop size. Neither is giant, but they aren't necessarily tiny either.Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

What do you look for in PRE/INTRA?
In a pre-workout these are the the studied, effective ingredients I look for:
5g Creatine
3-5g Beta-Alanine
1g Carnitine
8g Citrulline Mallate
200mg Caffeine
Maybe some agmatine, norvalline, taurine, and b-vitamins.
In a INTRA/BCAA product:
High dosage of Isoleucine, Leucince, and Valine
Some additional citrulline to make up for anything missing in the pre-workout
B-vitamins
Good Flavor!
I've attached some pictures of the labels for Volatile and Endurance BCAA
Ponder what you look for in these products.
Do you think these are missing anything?
My thoughts tomorrow.Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

Thoughts on the product ingredients...
SO, I think most would agree when I say I DO NOT like proprietary blends. However, I have some faith that this product still hits what I look for in a pre.
FOR the PRE-WORKOUT:
The proprietary blend is 9g, so it's a pretty heavy dose of active ingredients. However, Taurine is the very first ingredient. I don't think taurine is necessarily a bad ingredient, but it's dirt cheap so I would guess they put a whole bunch of it in as a filler, but that could be wrong. If that's not the case, then the whole product just got better!
Creatine: There are 2 types of creatine fairly high on the list, plus 1g in the BCAA product. So, I would imagine between the products it probably comes pretty close to the 3-5g dose, but i've been adding a little bit in on my own just for good measure.
Beta-Alanine: Between the 2g in the BCAA, and the fact it is second on the blend list. I would almost guarantee this hits the studied dose of 3.2g
In addition, the proprietary blend has citrulline, agmatine, caffeine, and some b-vitamins. However, they are so low in the blend they are probably negligible amounts.
That's a good thing with the caffeine though, many of the pre-workouts today have WAYYY more caffeine than is necessary.
FOR the BCAA endurance:
I like the 2:1:1 ratio, and this product has a dose of BCAA's comparable to most other good BCAA products on the market.
The glutamine isn't a bad addition.
The amount of B-vitamins in this product are negligible at best.
The addition of creatine and beta-alanine are good to make up for anything missing in the pre-workout when you stack them.
Plus, the intra workout citrulline is a great additive for a pump, but I would like to see a slightly higher dose.
That'd be my thoughts at first glance, what are your thoughts??Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

Haha, I might have to try that out, I like really strong flavor... last time I had the product in water it was with like 8-10 ounces and it just wasn't potent enough for my liking. Still haven't tried my fruit punch packet, but I will here soon and let you know my thoughts.

What's your diet like brah?
SOOO, I'm about as obsessive as it gets about hitting dem macro's spot on.
Throughout the course of my freshmen year of college I went from 166-178, lifting the whole time.
Spring break I started to lean out a bit, I'm currently like 168-169.
I'm more interested in strength than shreds, I just wanted to de-puff a bit, so i'm starting a reverse diet.
I was eating 300C - 200Pro - 65F, but this week I bumped my calories up about 50.
So my current macro's are 310-315C - 200Pro - 65F, and the scale has still been dropping(:
Next week I will probably bump up my carbs to 325 and keep fat and protein the same.
My goal would be too walk my calories back up to the point my macro's are back around 450C - 200Pro - 80F
We'll see though, more food... feels good man(:
What are all your macro's looking like? Or do you just eat "bro"? are you Bulking or Cutting?
I want to hear about you guys too!Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

National Chest Day? Who else killed it on the bench press today?
My workouts have been great these last few weeks!
I don't know if it's been the volatile and BCAA's or my reverse dieting, probably a combination of both...
BUT it feels good man!Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

Haha, I used to do legs on Monday.. I really do chest on Monday's now though, just from how my upper/lower works out.
I did legs today... It was a really rough workout for some reason. Up until today all of my workouts on Volatile had been epic though.Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841

My oh my! Today was epic! I upped my pause bench 5lbs for my 5*5, and i'm down about 3-4 pounds from when I hit my old numbers.
Typically when my calories are low my energy in the gym is only there while my pre-workout is first kicking in, but I have felt GREAT while taking Volatile and the Endurance BCAA products!
I haven't necessarily had skin splitting pumps, but my workout energy has been great! And my strength has pretty much either been all there or improved as the scale continues to drop!
Do you guys train for the pump, or would you rather just feel great mentally in the gym and smash strength plateaus?
I'm not saying the pump doesn't feel great... but it's by no means my #1 priority, and the product has really came through in the focus and energy department!Hyper-Gro Log Thread - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=166103841
