More people should be aware of depersonalization disorder and this was the best song of 2013 IMO
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization_disorder
"My family don't understand what I go through
Under diagnosed for 20 years, ain't never broke through
You ever been in such a fog you don't know you?
Never being able to do the **** you're supposed to?"
"I'm having trouble retaining new information
Familiar scenes starting to look foreign- derealization"
"My head don't work, the meds don't work
But I don't want to be dead, dead don't work
Sleep's the cousin of death, the bed don't work
Maybe I'd rather be dead; dead don't hurt"
if you like songs like this check the 2nd line of my sig

"The psychiatrist thinking they could fool you
Paxil, Zoloft, it's just wasteful to you
I've tried meditation, tried to sit in silence
But how the **** that help a neurochemical imbalance?
Why would you tell a person that they were childish
Without an understanding of the pain that they surround in?
I always feel foggy ****tic detatchment
It's like my body isn't connected to actions
It destroys everything that's affected the fragments
I don't have nothing but senses and sadness"

Such *******ry...
"Powerlifters shout at bodybuilders because bodybuilding produces mountains of muscle tissue with no functional purpose. Strongman competitors look down on powerlifters because there's more to strength than a one-rep max in three lifts performed with a minuscule range of motion. Olympic lifters, if you can find them, get to feel smug because every 4 years, you can turn on the TV at 3 AM and see them compete for gold. And everyone hates on CrossFit."

I'm reading 1-2% prevalence rates so that's about as common as schizophrenia. It seems like everyone would experience the symptoms of depersonalization from time to time (like the coffee junkie who just crawled out of bed) just not to the extent of chronicity.
And it helps a neurochemical imbalance (if you can even prove that's what causes this) because mindfulness has a measurable and well-documented effect on the brain. Give it a google.Random Guy, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
