I don't personally train like them but that gives me no reason to hate on them for the way they train. Yes, it may cause more injury etc, but the fact is Branch nor JoJ would be where they are if they hand't trained how they train. I'd say it worked pretty damn well for them.

So Branch ruined his physique playing the mass game...big deal. Plenty of others have and will continue to do so.
I always have a laugh to myself when clueless idiots post up pics of him from his past, standing alone or next to the non-elite of the time, making dumb statements like, "wonder where it all went wrong, or he had the potential to be Mr O if he hadn't ruined his lines." How about posting up a pic from that era standing beside the Current Mr O from that time. If you did this, you would notice that he was getting killed by the elite. Just go and look at his Olympia placings in 05 and 06.
Branch gambled, packed on the size and started beating most of the bodybuilding elite. Injuries aside, this plan never had long term merits when you take into account his frame limitations. When you pack that kind of mass onto a relatively small frame, there will always be eventual negative consequences such as a thickening of the waist and a sacrifice in aesthetics.
Just use some common-sense. If someone said to me that I could maintain an injury-free physique with maximum aesthetics appeal but finish 12th place at the Olympia every year or sacrifice all of this and snatch 2 Arnold Classics, I know which option I would choose. Thanks for the neg cutie xoxo really proved me wrong!
He has a lot of muscle/thickness for his sup-par frame, yes. However saying that this chit is Mr.Olympia quality is borderline retarded.
His biceps attach very short, his triceps attach very short and have poor mass. Almost zero forearm mass and also a terrible insertion. Wide waist, terrible rib structure, delts are average at best, chest is big and thick but lacks the proper insertions. Traps are very good, lats are alright but lack the 'lower' thickness, delts overpower the arms WAY to much in the BDB, no lower back in sight.
Good upper body? Definitely, comparable for a Sandow? No fukking way.

The bolded represents you basically. Let me break it down for you:
Apart from his tricep insertions, his upper body is anything but sub-par.
Waist? No wider than either Phil or Kai, his obliques are pretty tight and his midsection is clearly above average.
Rib structure? Poor chest insertions? Mother****er this is JoJ, the guy we all laud every time the word "chest is mentioned. Get a grip.
No lower back or lat thickness in sight, nope.

Where did I say his physique was sub-par? I said his FRAME was sub-par, but he has a good physique, but not Mr.Olympia material as the other poster mentioned.
Both Tony and Rhoden have better chest INSERTS but do not compare with his mass/thickness.
Post some stage pictures not gym pics for the back mate.........Last edited by sedrik; 01-17-2014 at 05:30 AM.

You keep misinterpreting my posts, stop putting words in my mouth. I said 'average delts' look at the picture you posted and you can see his average delts against the likes of Rhoden or Freeman, let alone Heath, and in your last post, you posted 1 pic from the front, and than three from the back not on stage. His chest inserts are not as square, wide or symmetrical as Rhodens or Freemans in the above pic.
Either way, I don't think you are getting the point. He has a great upperbody, but the other poster said it was Mr.Olympia quality. Which it is not, and that renders all the pictures irrelevant as we are comparing his physique to a Mr.Olympia.

Instead of refuting any of my points as to why his upperbody isn't O standard and only responding to 1/5th of my posts, you resort to insults.
Also terrible argument, physiques differ according to when they compete. You are not going to say for example '(insert any pro of today) has a Mr.Olympia quality upper body because his upperbody is better than Lary Scott'.
We are comparing them at their respective career dates, so he will be compared against Phil and anyone else who competes on the same stage/era.
I love Flex Lewis, and also had zero idea how tall JoJ was until I saw the above pic. No bias.
Anyway subjective sport, blah blah blah, i'm done. Live, laugh, love xoxo
