Anyone see their competition grow due to chinese resellers ? for example : You buy an item on alibaba, and find the same item being sold on ebay from chinese resellers that ship from the US .

yes pretty much but the only advantage I had was being able to ship the items from the US. Now the items company has shippers in the US thus making me obsolete.

I have a question.

I'm not trying to flip and sell, well just yet. But I've never sold on eBay before. I have some computer components(cpu, mobo, ram, ect) I'm trying to sell but I'm worried it won't do well based on the fact that I would be a new user without any feedback. How would I overcome this obsticle to attract buyers? Is the " buy now " option better than technically auctioning it?

Gotta think outside the box. Everyone is buying commodities from china and reselling on eBay. The big companies will simply buy large batches, undercut everyone else, and make money from sheer volume.

Damn been getting serious about this. been buying about 3 iphones per day while stalking Craigslist and I'm up $1200 in profit since Feb. 26th. This is lot's of work but there is good payout. You need lots of time to set these deals up and drive around.

I know that feel , I was super successful with one product but I have another I'm working on. I just have to readjust the price and keyworks to make sure my product at least in the top 5 when searched.

I bought both of my 4s 16gb for $300 each (good esn, like new), will list them at $300, set reserve for $360 so that the worse that can happen is I only make about $25

Insertion fee is only $2 so that's not terrible. Next time i'm going to try and get the same phones for $250 and make a cool 100 bucks each

Most people here have success posting phones starting at $.99, with no reserve. If you start an auction at $300 with a reserve, a lot of people will just skip over it, even if they eventually would bid higher than it. It doesn't make sense, but that's typically how it works. You just have to know what phones really sell for and be sure to buy them in a price range that leaves you a profit.

I've never lost money on a phone this way. The least I've profited after all fees was about $25 on one phone, the most about $150.

because you are listing an electronic item and are not a power seller, ebay will take 12%. paypal will then also take 2.9% + $0.30/transaction.

$360 x 14.9% = $53.64
$360 - $53.64 = $306.36
$306.36 - $300 = $6.36 profit (this does not include shipping)

Bought these things at $1.29 each, though it's not a lot of profit after shipping/ebay/paypal, this has unearthed a whole new playing filed for me. I now know that people will buy anything, including an idea of your own, if it's appealing and at the right price.

I strongly suggest you guys look into custom ANYTHING you can put a design on. Find a thriving and popular community (Breaking Bad fans for example) and abuse the sh!t out of. You have to remember that for any category there are ALWAYS die-hard fan boys that will purchase anything with anything to do with what they love.

I'm throwing a complete and random example of what I'm talkin about: **** like Breaking Bad shoe laces. Find something subtle about Breaking Bad and make shoelaces that breaking bad fans will "get"

BOOM, profits everywhere. What do custom shoe laces cost to make? $0.30 a pair? Jack that sh!t up to $10 a pair on ebay and these Breaking Bad fan boys will have no other option than to to buy it.

And because whatever you make is custom, you are your ONLY competitor.

One of the $300 4s's hasn't shipped after 6 days, I messaged him a kind message asking if he plans to ship. The other is supposed to be here today. After making sure it works, ill list on CL for $400 so that I make a cool $100, then try it at $350 if it doesnt sell
