Late nights really screw me over now. It takes me ages to recover and makes getting up at 5am on Monday to train REALLY painful. I really value my rest these days, probably due to the fact that I've pretty much had 5 years broken sleep. I'm more inclined to socialise in the afternoon and early evening these days.

Me too! So jelly you have access to farmers markets year round! That's my ritual in the spring/summer/fall. Shop. Hang out. Drink coffee. Have a little lunch from a vender there. Listen to the live music.
Then I go to the local butcher for meat.
One summer I had a CSA account, but missed the farmers market experience.
Winter: big grocery store

The year around farmers markets were an unexpected bonus when we moved to California. They aren't as great in the winter but they are still pretty good and winter is when all the fab citrus is available. The oranges and grapefruits are amazing right now.
I try to avoid the big grocery stores too. I only do the big grocery about once a month for things like laundry supplies, etc. There is a local independently run market right near the farmers market with a great butcher which is my usual sunday stop for proteins and whatever else I may need. Guys behind the meat counter there are super cool and know their stuff.

That sounds really good. I don't think I've ever done a Turkey tenderloin before. Going to look into that.
Husband is leaving for a week biz trip to London today. I'm planning on making a giant lamb stew today which I will be able to eat for a good portion of the week.

My dream: Live in northern Cali.

It was. Never made a cranberry sauce before, but it turned out pretty good.--maybe a little too sweet.

Found a recipe that called for pork, but used turkey instead. It was good.
