car insurance is all about transferring wealth. whatever you pay isn't enough to cover those that are bad drivers in bad neighborhoods. however they don't have the money to ever pay their true risk, so everyone else pays.

I feel you, OP. I moved to Vegas from Wyoming. My insurance went from $130 to $900 for 6 months. That was just for my 1979 Chevrolet K10. My 2014 S8 alone is $1300, adding my K10 would be another $430 on top of that. I took it off insurance since it's in storage.
