This is my first ever post so standby .
i am currently 22st 5 pounds this is because unfortunatly i ruptured my patella tendon playing football since then i ballooned in weight. i have started losing weight and currently lost 9lb so far which is great.
i have introduced gold standard whey protien into my diet and instead of hard cardio in the first week i have adopted weight lifting.
my question is because of my size i dont want to turn into a strongest man body, should i be lifting weights and how will this help me loose weight? will the scales go down or up as i am building muscle? does the whey protein help with weight loss?
i just need clarification on a few things.
thanks guys replies more than welcome.

Move more and eat less. That's the secret of weight loss.
Lifting is important while on a caloric deficit, because it will help retain the lean mass versus burning it as an unneeded tissue. The more muscle mass you have the higher your metabolic rate.
The protein powder is powdered milk. Use it to boost your protein intake if you are taking in an insufficient amount via whole foods.Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

Exactly this. And if you need some guide or assistance, check out the stickies in the nutrition section. It'll cover most of the basic questions about weight loss.
And like mentioned for protein powder, if you're having trouble meeting your protein intake for the day, then it may be helpful to you, but it's not 100% necessary.MuscleTech Representative
