story time, this time about my blog title

my title wasn’t always “i don’t give a **** about men’s feelings,” and i didn’t always claim to post “misandry” in my “about me.” i used to defend feminists against “manhater” accusations! i distanced myself from people i thought were too mean to men!

then i discovered bodybuilding.com

i found a thread where a man was describing “hooking up” with a woman whose “virginity” he bragged about. he was posting half-naked pictures of her for the other men on the board and bragging about his “conquest.”

he then asked if it was “normal” for a woman (“girl”) to cry during her “first time,” and explained that she was crying the entire time he was penetrating her and he didn’t bother to stop. he said that afterward, she was “acting weird” and told him she “didn’t really want to have sex tonight.” he posted texts from her after the incident where she was clearly uncomfortable and distrustful of him.

aka, he raped her.

ALL of the other men on the board (and there were many, many pages to this thread) decided she was a “clinger” and he needed to cut off all contact to protect himself. they told him to save all of her texts so she couldn’t “cry rape” later. some outright joked about that fact that he had raped her, and coached him on how not to get caught. they told him to **** with her head (using sex-pos feminist rhetoric. something i hadn’t noticed before) to make her think what had happened was totally consensual. THEY LAUGHED ABOUT IT.

i made an account to call them all out, and they called me a crazy bitch and a stupid woman. they called me a manhater.

i had a legit emotional breakdown over this. i became distrustful of my boyfriend for a while, because he used to frequent other parts of the website when we first met. it was a pretty big ****ing deal.

after thinking about it for a while and blacklisting every tag concerning rape on tumblr, i decided i didn’t give a ****. if you think being anti-rape is “misandrist,” i am a misandrist. if you think calling men out on their bull**** is “manhating,” i am a manhater. if you think being wary of men because a great number of them are sexist is “sexist against men,” i am sexist against men.

i just do not care. if you think “misandry” is just as bad as actual misogyny (which literally kills women every single day), i do not care about your opinions. if you are offended by women making “misandrist” jokes while you stand by other men engaging in or actively engage in actual misogyny, i do not care about your accusations. you don’t care about sexism, you care about women’s righteous anger. you don’t like women taking and turning your game against you. and i do not care.

patriarchy isn’t going to become matriarchy because a few women joked about “man logic” and child custody. your misogyny, on the other hand, directly upholds patriarchy and actual harassment, assault, and violence against women. i can see through your cheap attempts to silence women’s anger at male dominance. i am not phased by your accusations of “sexism against men.” i really, really, do not care.
