    CL White Flood v2 - Juicy Watermelon



    Big shout out to Powercage and the whole Controlled Labs crew for being so generous and sharing the new Watermelon WF with so many of us.

    Background:
    Started lifting in late 2009 to get bigger and stronger for college soccer. For the first 6 months of lifting I had no idea what I was doing out side of the gym. I was about 155 lbs 8% body fat. I was your typical skinny and tall soccer player. I had no idea rest, a correct workout plan, and nutrition were a huge part of making gains. I did not start using supplements until October 2010 and now thanks to bb.com I am a supp whore

    I partially tore my quad in late August 2010 right after I got to college. I ended up quitting college soccer. I was playing Division III at the time. It took a long time to really get my leg back to 100%. So the past 8 months or so I have really been neglecting legs. I have noticed big gains ever since I got my diet in check, but my legs lack the most. I will be doing legs when I can but evey once in awhile my quad will bother me.

    Then in April 2011 I tore my rotator cuff playing basketball. I opted to try physical therapy rather than go under the knife, and I am thankful I chose physical therapy. I lifted minimally while my shoulder was torn up but went very light. So through this injury, most of my lifts suffered and I lost a significant amount of strength. My shoulder feels 100% now, I was cleared to get back into lifting 100% last Monday. It was a grueling 6 weeks of physical therapy but I am happy I did it.

    Current Stats & Goals:
    I am currently weighing in at 180 lbs 13% body fat. I was supposed to start cutting weeks ago but my diet has been shiit as of late ever since I got back from college. But with this log I plan to get my diet in check and not cheat at all so I can finally lose some weight and get my body % under 10 like it used to be. I am aiming to lose ~15 lbs.

    Universal Animal Cuts & Flex
    XF Whey/Gaspari Myofusion
    may be adding Green Bulge into the mix as well

    Current Training Schedule:
    Mon - Chest
    Tues - Arms
    Wed - Legs
    Thurs - Back/Shoulders
    Fri - Traps/Abs
    Sat - Off
    Sun - Off

    I do not do cardio at the gym or anything like that because I play a ton of pick up basketball through out the week and I play on a summer soccer team as a tune up for the fall season so I get plenty of running in from doing those two.

    I will be officially starting this log tomorrow. I have been cycling off stims since last week so I will put up a product review in the product review section, and also update you all in here with my thoughts.

    Just an update. My schedule has been all out of wack this week thus far. I took Monday and today off. So tomorrow I will be doing a chest/arms workout. I will start my normal workout schedule on this coming Monday.

    Day 1 - 6/15/11

    Big thaks to Powercage and the whole CL crew for being so generous to the bb.com community and picking many of us to log the new Watermelon WF v2! Let's get down to business:

    I did chest and arms today

    Initial Review:

    Mixability: I poured 10 oz of cold water into my shaker cup and dropped in 1 level scoop of WF. I put on the top and shook it up for roughly 15-20 seconds. I noticed minimal grit at the bottom, and there was no clumping what so ever. I will say I let it sit for about 5 minutes which I always do so I give the product a chance to fully dissolve; this is when I noticed it to start sperating. It as a dark red/purple color on the top and the bottom was a light pink. But it was no problem I just shook it up again before I drank it.

    Taste: Ok so with WF v1 I did not use much water. I can recall using like 12 oz water for 2 scoops and the flavor was not too strong. But 1 scoop of the Watermelon v2 was even strong for me in 10 oz of water. But the taste is excellent. It is nothing like Xtend's watermelon flavor, and also un like Universal's Atomic 7. This is a very unique watermelon flavoring. Just like everyone else has pointed out already, I would have to describe it as a Bubbalicious Bubblegum watermelon flavor. I also think this flavor is fairly close to tasting like a real life watermelon compared to all of the other watermelon flavors for products on the market. CL really hit the nail on the head with this one. Yes it was very sweet, but the taste is great. I just need to dilute it a little more when I use it. The only problem I see is when I up the dosage to 2 scoops I will probably need to use 20+ oz of water to fit my liking.

    Energy: I was a big fan of WF v1 and the energy complex. This profile is even better. I have been off stims for 5 days. I woke up at 9:30, mixed my WF right when I got up. I was so groggy and tired when I got up. My gym is about 15 minutes away from my house. So I made sure I drank it slowly and swished it around in my mouth before swallowing so I could absorb the nitrates easier. So on my way to the gym I felt the WF start to kick in. It was a nice little energy buzz and by the time I got to the gym I was ready to go. The energy was a very steady and clean energy. I did not feel cracked out like I did on Jack3d and all the other stim heavy pre workouts. The energy lasted a solid ~90 minutes. I can't wait to see the energy WF gives me when I up the dosage to 2 scoops.

    Pump: I always got a nice pump from WF v1. I can't really say this gave me some incredible skin tearing pump, but I will say it was a bit better than the pump I would get from WF v1. It was a long lasting pump that I got even from just doing my warm up. It got the blood pumping to my chest and arms and lasted. Once again I feel the pump will be so much better once I up the dosage to 2 scoops and once I add in Purple Psyko to the mix

    Overall: CL hit it out of the park with this one. I really enjoyed WF v1, but v2 is a big step up from the original formula. It provided very good clean energy and a nice pump. I think I would have gotten more out of my first workout if I had cycled off stims a bit longer but I just couldn't wait any longer to start my log. I really think it will be much better when I up the dosage to 2 scoops.

    Notes: Overall good workout today. As you can see from my initial review that is posted above I had good clean evergy, and a good pump. I felt very sluggish when I woke up but once I had WF in my system for 10 minutes it really gave me a kick in the butt. I will be using 1.5 scoops tomorrow and adding in Psyko for intra. Can't wait to see how the pumps are tomorrow. I will be doing back/shoulders tomorrow. I will begin using my normal workout routine on Monday.

    Also if there is anything I missed or anything else you would like to see me include in my log feel free to let me know. I am always open for opinions and suggestions so I can make this log even better! I forgot to mention I will not be including my macros in this log but every Monday I will be updating the log with my weight since I am trying to cut at the moment.

    Day 2 - 6/16/11

    What's up guys? I planned to do back/shoulders today but I found out early this morning I have two soccer practices today. So I decided to only do shoulders so I could save most of my energy for soccer later on today.

    I decided to up the dosage to two scoops today. Here are my thoughts:

    Mixability: 2 scoops of WF in 16 oz of cold water. Mixed in my blender bottle for 15 seconds and it was good to go.

    Taste: Taste was a bit strong but still delicious. I tasted a slight chemical taste but it was very mild. 2 scoops in 16 oz is decent but I dealt with it because I didn't wanna chug down 20+ oz of water 30 mins pre workout. I will still be playing around with the water levels to suit my liking.

    Energy: A+ work Controlled Labs. I felt this stuff kick in after 15 minutes (NO placebo). Very clean and steady energy. I'm loving the energy Wf v2 has given me. It allows me to push out the last few reps easier than normal.

    Focus: I forgot to mention this category in my initial review. But it gives me great focus. In the gym my mind usually wanders, well actually in general my mind is always wandering. I realized after my workout that I was not focused on anything but lifting. This may be my favorite part because usually in between sets my mind is usually else where, you know checking out the girls in the gym, or thinking about what I am going to do later. But I was soley focused on on my sets, reps, etc the last 2 days.

    Pump: I can never really feel a great pump in my delts but I will say post workout I noticed my delts a big bigger than normal and seemed more defined.

    Now on to the workout:

    Pre Workout: 2 scoops WF in 16 oz water.
    Intra Workout: 2 scoops Purple Psyko in 25 oz water.
    Post Workout: 2 scoops XF Arctic Lemonade Whey in 12 oz water.

    Wrote this up to help maximize effectiveness for those just starting WF:

    Tips to enhance nitrate absorption: Swish WF around in your mouth ~35-40 minutes or so preworkout. Allow the bacteria in your mouth time to work on the nitrates to get the most out of the product. Also make sure not to use toothpaste/mouthwash within 4 hours prior to WF use as it prevents absorption of nitrates. My personal preference, once I have the stim tolerance, is 1.5 scoops 40 min PWO and .5 scoop mixed in with my intra


    2 scoops already? Did you have any time to cycle off stims before?

    I took 5 days off. I know you guys suggest a week or two but I was so eager to start my log that I started with 1 and upped it to 2 already. The energy lasted a very long time after my workout so I am going to drop down to a little over 1 scoop tomorrow. Maybe 1.5

    Day 3 - 6/17/11

    TGIF! Today was my abs/traps day. I went with 1/2 scoop of WF in 8 oz of water pre workout because I knew traps/abs would not take that long to finish. Here are today's stats:

    Today was chest day. What a great way to start off the week.

    Pre Workout: 1.5 scoops of WF watermelon in 18 oz water
    Intra Workout: 2 scoops of Purple Psyko in 25 oz water
    Post Workout: 2 scoops WF Whey Lemonade in 15 oz water

    WF watermelon was delicious as always. Had great energy and focus in the gym today. Between the 1.5 scoops of WF pre, and 2 scoops Psyko intra the pumps were insane. My chest felt and looked so full, it felt awesome. Now onto the stats:

    Notes:Today was great. Like I said before my chest felt so full and pumped up it was awesome. The pumps from WF stacked with Purple Psyko are crazy. I highly reccommend it to anyone who wants crazy pumps. My numbers bench wise have really gone down hill. Right before my shoulder injury I was repping out 200+ lbs no problem. But since I tore my rotator cuff in April my bench has really suffered the most. I was limited to benching 5 times or less in the 6 weeks of physical therapy. So right now I am really focusing on gaining back my strength in my chest. Thankfully it will come back in due time because of muscle memory. And on another note I as sweating like a bitchhhh in the gym today. But overall an awesome workout!
    Now time to kick back, relax, get some food in me and rest up for my soccer game tonight!

    Day 7 - 6/21/11

    Hey everyone, sorry for not updating this yesterday. I spent most of my day running around because I had a job interview, soccer practice, went to the gym, saw the girlfriend and then went to night class for 3.5 hours, FML. But I did get in a decent workout. Here are my thoughts on yesterday's workout.

    Pre Workout: 1 scoop WF in 12 oz water. Taste was great as always. I only did biceps because I had to rush around yesterday. But I made sure it counted. I got a GREAT pump from 1 scoop WF and 1 scoop Purple Psyko intra. Love how stackable they are! the focus was good too. But I feel the energy I get from 1 scoop WF is equivalent to 2 scoops of the origonal WF.

    Notes Being so strapped for time yesterday, I was only to get in biceps. I really focused on keeping good form. I am really loving this new White Flood. I have been playing around with how much WF I take on certain days. Like if I am going to do 2 body parts in 1 day, I will use 2 scoops so the energy lasts longer. But I have noticed if I am doing 1 body part I only need 1 scoop to give me enough energy to get me through the workout. I made the mistake of taking 2 scoops too early in my log and the energy lasted WAY too long for my liking. I had a ton of energy even almost an hour after I stopped lifting. But so far so good with the log. If you guys have any ideas on improvements I can make pelase feel free to chime in. I am open to all ideas.

    Today has been a real hectic day too. I woke up at 11, went to soccer practice from 12-2. Then had to go home, then see the girlfriend. Now tonight I have to go to her graduation at 5. So I have no time to hit legs today. I plan to hit legs on either Saturday or Sunday because those are my normal off days.

    Day 8 - 6/22/11

    OFF. I did not have time to get to the gym. This was my leg day so I will be doing legs Saturday/Sunday instead.

    Day 9 - 6/23/11

    Back/Shoulders day. Slept in late today; it felt awesome to get like 11 hours of sleep. Gotta let them muscles grow lol. Anyways today I woke up around noon, ate at 1 and lifted at about 2. Today was very odd. I normally do not take a pre workout unless I have eaten 2-3 hours prior because all pre workouts are suggested to be used on an empty stomach. But today I was strapped for time because I have a night class tonight at 6 so I ate an hour or so prior to using WF. No joke about 5 minutes after drinking WF I felt a huge surge of energy. And this was only from one scoop. The BA tingles were all over my neck and felt great too. ( I usually hate BA tingles. C4 by Cellucor made me itch and burn.). I was like wtf since I had just eaten and I didn't think I would get the full effects. Here are my thoughts:

    Mixability: Great as always. 10 oz water with 1 scoop = perfect. No grit, mixed prefectly.

    Taste: Refreshing. A week in I am usually sick of pre workouts and their flavoring. But this is a unique watermelon flavor and I have not gotten tired of it yet.

    Energy: Today's energy was crazy. That is the most energy I have ever gotten from 1 scoop of WF. I was legit astonished at how much energy I got. Lasted for like 2 hours.

    Pump: My lats always pump up on back day. The pump was nothing out of the ordinary. On the other hand my shoulders never really pump up but today they pumped up and looked/felt great.

    Focus: My mind was all over the place. I can't really say WF gave me good focus today.

    Traps/Abs day. Woke up mad early today to get my workout in. Felt groggy when I woke up but once I sipped on dat der WF it woke me right up!

    I wont even be rating the mixability/taste at this point. I have stated it mixes, and tastes great!

    Pump: Got a sick pump in my traps today

    Energy: Used 1 scoop. Was clean energy and kept me going through my whole workout

    Sorry I did not have time to update this yesterday guys. I had a great chest workout!

    Thoughts on the WF: Ok for me I think everything about WF has gotten better with time. When I first started using it I got good energy, pumps, focus. But this past week or so the energy kicks in within 5 minutes of me consuming it. I feel the BA tingles almost instantly so I know it is working. The pumps are getting better, and so is the focus. I truly believe once 1/3D is banned all together that WF is gonna run train on the pre workout game. (accidental rhyme lol). Here are my stats for yesterday!

    Notes: Stacked WF v2 w/ NO3 Black Chrome from Cellucor. My arms were filled up like balloons today. The pump lasted so long too. Energy was good. I only needed 1 scoop today. I had decent focus but lately in the gym my mind is all over the place.


    I have work 1-8 PM tomorrow so I will be going to the gym right after tomorrow! Leg day
