    best way = better diet

    (serious)

hanging leg raises are a good exercise to hit them for me personally. especially with a weight between the feet (try to "grab" a small dumbbell pinched in between your feet)

Assuming your diet is on point, any exercise that brings the legs towards the upper body are effective lower ab exercises.

    Orly?

Here I thought bringing your legs to your body was done by hip flexors.
    Oh wait, Im right.

If there is no spinal flexion involved (abs, lower and upper, flex the spine, in case you didnt know), then im afraid its not abs you're working. At best, isometric contractions.

Try some decline crunches and some with twists, give it a go with a plate in ur hands, I use a 5kg EZ grip but whatever you reckon you can do a good amount of crunches with

The best way to show abs is via diet. You could always try reverse crunches or hanging crunches.

But to be honest, a lot of ab development has to do with how the muscles are genetically.
